4 Conttless Meter Rely A preise meter rely tht uses the defletion of the pointer to ontrol the externl iruits. Toyo Keiki mnuftures devies with photoeletri-type onfigurtions. Fetures of Meter Rely These meter relys possess the vrious fetures of onttless solid stte rely. The rely iruits nd detetion rely re integrted into the min ody of the meter. This redues lor, potentil misonnetion nd other issues in steps suh s onnetion nd instlltion of the inluded ells. Highly relile opertion. Relile opertion even during minute meter input. Set point pssge-type rely. Operting Priniples of Photoeletri Type A light soure nd reeiver re instlled on the upper limit nd lower limit pointers respetively. The olletor urrent of the photo trnsistor reeiver hnges when the foil tthed to the movle pointer goes etween the light soure nd the reeiver y mens of the movle oil input. This hnge in urrent is onverted to hnge in voltge whih psses through omprtor iruit nd swithing iruit to operte the detetion rely. Output Signl Formt. Pssing Signl Retining Type. Pssge Type/Instntneous Type. Stop Type. Pssing Signl Retining Type When the pointer moves pst the setting vlue, the pssing signl is retined fter signl output. The signl returns to norml fter the pointer moves k to the setting vlue. Pssge Type/Instntneous Type The sme struture s the stop type elow, exept without the stopper. Stop Type The pointer mehnilly stops fter it psses the H or L setting vlue nd signl is output. The pointer n reh round % of the sle length pst the setting vlue. Preutions for Use Retention Side Luminesent Diode Photo Trnsistor Driving Side Luminesent Diode Photo Trnsistor Pointer Driving Side Photo Trnsistor Luminesent Diode Retention Side Photo Trnsistor Luminesent Diode Metlli Foil Comprtor Ciruit Storge Ciruit oltge Ciruit Detetion Rely H Side Power Supply 0 () When using meter rely with L settings (exept the wide ngle pssing signl retining type), tke re not to turn on the power of the meter rely nd the meter input t the sme time, s the L side signl will e generted ontinuously until the meter pointer psses the set L pointer. () Avoid using in res where the meter will e diretly exposed to sunlight in the middle of summer, s these re photoeletri-type meter relys. 5 Wide-ngle Meter Rely (Pssing Signl Retining Type) While 0 displement meter relys hve shielding plte t the 0 point nd n retin the signl y themselves fter the pointer psses this, wide-ngle meter relys re mehnilly unle to do this euse the displement ngle (0 ) is too lrge. An eletroni storge method is used insted. As result, the following issues our the first time the uxiliry power supply is turned on. Plese tke this into ount when designing iruits. () When the Auxiliry is Turned On (L Side Only) Lod rely opertion on the L side should e turned on when the meter pointer is zero nd the uxiliry power supply is turned on, ut in this se opertion does not our unless the pointer is displed to round mm efore the L setting vlue. However, this only ours the first time the pointer psses fter turning on the power. After this, opertion is turned off when the L setting vlue is pssed nd on fter returning to norml, nd remins on fter returning to zero. This only ours for the L setting. Norml opertion ours from the strt for the H setting. () When the Auxiliry is Stopped If the inditor input nd uxiliry power supply of the meter re pplied y different iruits, the uxiliry power supply stops when the pointer goes ove the H setting vlue nd the H lod rely tivtes. If the pointer ontinues to indite the sme vlue, the H lod rely returns (turns off) t the sme time s the power supply, nd usully turns k on when the power is turned on gin. However, if the power is off for 0 seonds or longer, the storge iruit no longer retins the signl, with the result tht the previous signl is no longer output when the power is turned on gin. If the power is off for 0 seonds or longer, e sure to return the pointer to the zero position y opening or shorting the meter input iruit. No issue ours when the power is off for short periods of less thn 0 seonds, s the storge iruit remins live.
