8 11/8 Desription IZM, IN IZM iruit-breaers The IZM from Moeller embodies a onept for open iruit-breaers that exeeds the standard throughout the world. Based on state-of-the-art system engineering, these swithes open up a new dimension in the rated urrent range from 630 to 6300 A. They exel not only for their performane, but also for their funtionality, espeially in their ommuniations apabilities and their ease of handling and installation. A omprehensive operator manual is supplied with eah devie. Appliations Coupler swithes: Beside the IZM iruit-breaers, IN swith-disonnetors are available. These are used, for example, as oupler swithes between different power supplies. Main swithes: You an use both IN swith-disonnetors and IZM iruit-breaers as mains isolating swithes. When fitted with a loable handle, all IZM iruit-breaers (and IN swith-disonnetors) fulfil the main swith and isolating harateristis aording to IEC/EN Depending on the type of apparatus to be proteted, the tass of the iruit-breaers an be split into four main appliations: System protetion Motor protetion Transformer protetion Generator protetion. These ey appliations mae different demands on the swithes, whih are met with a range of ontrol units. Swithes with losing release are suitable for synhronization tass. Safety and reliability Numerous loing features are provided or an be fitted by the user, on the one hand to protet the swith and system from unauthorised swithing, and on the other for the protetion of maintenane and operating personnel. Design The ompat design of the iruit-breaers provides optimum utilization of the available spae, allowing ontrol panels to be equipped more effiiently. The IZM for a rated urrent up to 6300 A, for example, an be installed in am 800 mm wide ontrol panel field. Swithes with a rated urrent of 1600 A need only a 400 mm field. Operating panel The operating panel is designed to ensure that it an protrude through a ut-out in the door and that all operation elements and displays an be aessed when the ontrol panel door is losed. The operating panels of all swithes (fixed mounted/ withdrawable, 3/4-pole) are idential. The operating panel provides IP20 degree of protetion.

9 Current range The new open iruit-breaer IZM overs the entire range from 800 A 6300 A with just two frame sizes. The ompat frame size IZM1 extends the rated urrent range downwards to 630 A. If required, the range an be extended to 250 A by exhanging the rating plug. And all this with a setting range of x In. Dimensions The IZM devies have the same height and depth aross their entire urrent range. Only their devie varies depending on the number of poles and the frame size. Connetion by As standard, IZM iruit-breaers are fitted with horizontal onnetions. Optionally, the following onnetions are possible: vertial onnetions, onnetions that are aessible from the front and flanged onnetions. Control units The IZM features miroproessor-ontrolled ontrol units as standard. Five different ontrol units are available for seletion and thus offer optimum protetion for your system: From simple system protetion with overload and short-iruit release extending to a digital iruit-breaer with graphi display and the option of setting up time-disriminating networs. Control iruit onnetions The built-in auxiliary swithes are onneted to the male onnetor on the swith. Irrespetive of the mounting type, the ustomer onnets the auxiliary power iruits to the ontrol iruit plugs at the top of the iruit-breaer. The standard terminals are srew-type; spring-loaded terminals are optional. ON fixed mounting units, the ontrol iruit plugs are fitted diretly to the plug onnetors on the swith and are oded against aidental reversal. To allow withdrawable units to be moved, a sliding ontat module is fitted between swith and mounting. The sliding ontat module allows a seure onnetion of the ontrol iruit able onnetors in the onneted and test positions of the swith. Modular design Beause omponents are installed from the front, retrofitting aessories is espeially qui and easy. This allows you to respond flexibly to hanging requirements within your system. Communiation-apability With their ommuniation-apability, the IZM iruit-breaers open up new possibilities in power distribution. Providing and transmitting all important operational information, they inrease system transpareny and shorten the response times to states suh as overurrent, phase asymmetry and overvoltage. A rapid intervention in a proess an, for example, prevent downtimes and help to shedule maintenane ativities and therefore boost plant availability. Internal system bus The IZM universal and digital iruit-breaers ontain an internal system bus as standard, whih onnets all intelligent omponents of the iruit-breaer. Through the ommuniations interfae, the information from the intelligent omponents an then be transmitted through PROFIBUS-DP, for example with the IZM- XCOM ommuniation module. Expansion modules for the internal system bus: External add-on modules an be onneted to the IZM iruit-breaers through the internal system bus without extensive additional wiring. Digital input modules and digital and analog output modules are available for this purpose. A further module implements redued-time seletivity ontrol between IZM iruit-breaers. Desription Seletion riteria for IZM iruit-breaers 11/9 Fundamental riteria for the seletion of iruit-breaers: Max. short-iruit at the point of installation of iruit-breaer I max: this value determines the short-iruit breaing apaity or the short-iruit urrent arrying apaity of the iruit-breaer. It is ompared with the value I u, I s, I w of the swith and mainly determines the size of the swith a tehnial data. Rated urrent I n whih should flow through the respetive branh iruit: this value may not be greater than the maximum swith rated urrent of the iruitbreaer. The rated urrent is defined with the IZM with the rated urrent module (exeption: overurrent release for system protetion XZMA). A PROFIBUS master an ommuniate with the IZM via the DP and DPV1 protools for monitoring purposes. Maintenane information reeived on time (e.g. via the operating time/hours or via the wear and usage of the main ontats) enables the user to prevent system standstills. With threshold violation signals, users an tae preventative measures before it omes to a trip. For later analysis with the IZM-XEM-PG parameter assignment module, the relevant data generated when a trip taes plae is saved in the devie (for example tripping urrent with date and time). Beause the ommuniation module is attahed to the frame of the iruit-breaer, the built-in temperature sensor measures the temperature inside the ontrol panel. The swith position is transmitted to PROFIBUS through three miroswithes in the underside of the ommuniation module (operating, test or isolated position). All miroswithes that reord information about the state of the iruit-breaer are installed on or onneted to the breaer status sensor (BSS module) for signalling internal swithing states. The module provides this digital information (ON, OFF, status of the spring energy store, availability, voltage release) on the built-in system bus. A further temperature sensor determines the temperature in the iruit-breaer. This reading is also made available through a bus line. The available modules inlude digital output modules, an analog output module, a digital input module and the ZSI module for redued-time seletivity ontrol. The digital output modules with relay outputs are available in a user-programmable version and a version programmable with a rotary oding swith. The power for the external expansion module is provided by the internal system bus. harmoni measuring funtion [x263a]with the data and funtions provided by the measuring funtion, the power distribution an be analysed in detail. With the setpoint funtions of the measuring funtions, users an signal or reord speifi events in the networ. In addition, extended protetive funtions an be implemented, providing additional tripping onditions that are not overed by the overurrent release. The "harmoni" measuring funtion determines urrents, voltages, ratings, power fators, energy values, frequenies, harmoni distortion, form fators and pea fators. The measuring funtion provides two additional, independent urve form memories and a frequeny analysis up to the 29th harmoni (fast Fourier transformation, or FFT), whih an be used for a harmoni ompensation. Control voltage supply The basi funtions of the eletroni overurrent release do not require auxiliary power. With the Universal and Digital release it is possible to use additional funtions whih neessitate a data exhange via the internal system bus. These devies are fitted with the internal system bus as standard. For data ommuniations, an external 24 V DC power supply is required, whih must fulfil the following onditions: Primary swithed-mode power supply unit 24 V DC, G 3 % Rated output urrent: 5 A per iruit-breaer with the greatest possible number of external expansion modules. For example, you an use the Moeller swithed-mode power supply unit SN BI7, Artile no Connetion to ontrol iruit onnetions X8:3 and X8:4 or to one of the expansion modules. The various omponents are then supplied with power through the internal system bus onnetion. 23 11/30 Desription Components for ommuniations IZM ZSI module Where full seletivity at low delay times is an issue even if the iruit-breaers are arranged in hierarhial groups, the ZSI modules have the solution. They are used to onnet the iruit-breaers with eah other. If a short-iruit ours, eah iruit-breaer through whih short-iruit urrent flows determines whether the adjaent iruit-breaer on the next lower level is also affeted. This allows the exat loation of the short-iruit to be identified and only the iruit-breaer immediately upstream of the fault loation is tripped. With the miroproessor-ontrolled delayed seletivity ontrol, the tripping delay of these upstream iruit-breaers an be redued to up to 50 ms. Digital output module with rotary oding swith This module an output 6 binary data units onerning the swithing state (trip auses and warnings) of external swithing devies (e.g. lamps, horns, laxons) or for swithing off further system omponents (e.g. frequeny inverters). Various versions of digital output modules are available, both with and without a rotary oding swith. Modules with a rotary oding swith allow seletion between two signal blos, eah with six defined assignments, and an additional response delay. The digital output modules are available as versions with opto-oupler outputs (N/ O ontat, 150 ma) or with relay outputs (hangeover ontats up to 10 A). Up to two modules of this type an be onneted to an IZM. Digital output module, onfigurable For high-performane solutions, the onfigurable output module is available. With this unit, any event on the internal system bus an be swithed diretly on one of six available outputs or three of these outputs an be assigned with up to six events ( OR operation). The module an be onfigured with the IZM-XEM-PG or IZM- XEM-PGE parameter assignment module (with Ethernet interfae). As for the output modules with rotary oding swith, a relay version are available. Only one module of this type an be used per IZM. Analog output module The analog output module an be used in onjuntion with the measuring funtion to output the following measured values of the iruit-breaer to analog indiation devies in the ontrol panel door: I L1, I L2, I L3, I N or U L12, U L23, U L31, U L1N or P L1, P L2, P L3, S ges or 1, 2, 3, DI % or f avg, U LLavg, P ges, avg Four interfaes (4 20 ma/0 10 V) are available for this purpose. The measured values for output are seleted with a rotary oding swith. The use of the analog output module removes the need for additional transduers and their onventional installation and wiring in the main iruit. Up to two modules of this type an be onneted to an IZM. Digital input module With the digital input module, six additional binary signals (24 V DC) an be onneted to the system. Alternatively, a hangeover between two parameter sets (e.g. for motori and regenerative operation) an be implemented quily and easily. Parameter assignment module The IZM-XEM-PG parameter assignment module with integrated webserver allows aess to all devie information for analysis or parameterization purposes. The parameter assignment module is onneted to the loal interfae of the overurrent release and, ating as a Web server, maes the data available through the Hypertext Transfer Protool (HTTP). With this interfae, any PC destop, noteboo or palmtop with a Web browser with Java 2 Virtual Mahine an beome a user interfae. The required HTTP files are inluded as standard. No additional software needs to be installed. The data is displayed in a lear tree struture for qui aess. With the parameter assignment module, the swith parameters an not only be hanged, but also saved for later transmission to idential iruit-breaers. Depending on the equipment level of the IZM iruit-breaer, the following values an be displayed: urrent, voltage, power, energy,, frequeny and harmonis as well as temperature. All status information for the iruit-breaer, warning and trip indiations, threshold violations eah with date and time of ourrene, maintenane and statistial information (to redue or prevent system downtimes). The parameter assignment module is fitted with a magnet on its ba, whih maes it ideally suited as a portable online parameterization and diagnostis tool. Alternatively, the parameter assignment module an be used to reate and modify parameter sets offline on a noteboo. A printing funtion allows all proesses and settings to be doumented on paper.
