Name: Date: Presentation Outline: Haunted Places in North America Grade: / 25 Context & Task Halloween is on it s way! What better way to celebrate Halloween than to do a project on haunted places! There are many locations in North America that are considered haunted. It is YOUR JOB to choose 1 haunted place in North America and complete a presentation on this location. You will need to do two things: 1) Fill out this outline to help you build your presentation later. You will hand in this outline on Monday October 31st. 2) Create a Google Slides presentation. You will be presenting your Google Slides presentations on Friday Monday October 31st. STEP 1: Fill out this outline! Answer all the questions on the following pages. Write as much detail as possible for each answer. You must use at least 3 sources (websites, books, magazines and newspapers) to help you find your information. Make sure you write down WHERE you found your information (sources). You can do this at the end of this outline. 1
1. What is the name of your paranormal ghost story or legend? (2 mark) 2. Where is this haunted place? (City, country, inside, outside, a house, a castle, a farm?). Give as many details about where this story or legend takes place as you can. (5 marks) 2
3. Give as much BACKGROUND information on the location of where the ghost story takes place. (What special events happened there?) (5 marks) 4. Describe the story of the haunted place. Why do people think there is something paranormal going on? (5 marks) 3
5. What do people see when they are describing the legend (5 marks): Is there a ghost of one person? Are there ghosts of many people? What do people see when they are describing the legend? Do people see ghosts or apparitions? Do funny things happen like objects flying around or lights turning on and off? 4
6. Have there been any serious investigations regarding the story you choose? Did anyone find any significant proof that there was/ is a ghost or paranormal activity? (3 marks) 5
STEP 2: Make a Google slides presentation! Using the information from your outline, you will make a Google Slides presentation. How many slides does my presentation have to be? I think the presentation should look like this: Title slide with your name and the title of your presentation 1-2 slides that talk about the name of the haunted location you chose 1-2 slides that show WHERE your haunted location is 2 maps that show where the story or legends happens or happened 2-3 Pictures of the place where the story or legend happened (pictures of the location) 1-2 slides that talk about the background of the haunted location 2-3 Pictures of the people involved in the story or legend. 2-3 slides that talk about why people think this place is haunted, including what people see 1-2 Pictures that people have taken that might show any signs of paranormal activity. 1-2 slides that talk about any investigations related to the haunted location you chose, including at least 1 picture A slide that shows Mr. O Neill where you got your information from 6
Do I need to have pictures in my presentation? YES! Put as many HELPFUL pictures as possible. If you think putting in a picture will help you explain your haunted location better, then put the picture in! Does spelling count? YES. I will be checking for spelling, grammar and punctuation. Please make sure you edit your presentation and have another person look over your presentation for mistakes. What if I forget something? Make sure you look at your outline as you make your presentation. That way, you won t forget. Also, Mr. O Neill will give you a checklist to help you remember everything! ***Once your presentation is done, look at the PRESENTATION CHECKLIST & PRESENTATION RUBRIC to make sure you ve included everything you need to! 7
