Hale, is now available on Amazon, CreateSpace, and various ebook platforms. 3 About the Author Rick Hale has spent his life in the pursuit of the unknown after witnessing an apparition at his grandparents house on the north side of Chicago. Over the past 20-plus years, Rick has been on dozens of investigations with large paranormal groups to being completely independent. Rick began writing for Paranormal Underground magazine in May 2009, and a year later he became cohost of Paranormal Underground Radio. Rick is the American Correspondent for The European Paranormal Activity Society. He is also a senior Chicago guide for Para Adventures, leading tourists through Chicago's most famous haunted hotspots. Rick is happily married and father to the future world's greatest paranormal researcher. Author Q&A Q: What can readers expect from The Geek s Guide to the Strange & Unusual? Rick: A fun, easy read meant to educate and entertain. Q: How did you choose the paranormal cases you covered in the book? Rick: The cases that I picked are the ones that have fascinated me since I was kid. I do believe that they provide some of the best and most investigated paranormal cases in the annals of the unexplained. Q: Why do you think people the world over are fascinated with the paranormal? Rick: This fascination with the paranormal is nothing new. Humankind has always been curious about what comes after the body dies. Now with the Internet and social networking sites we can all share our experiences with other like-minded people. Q: What would readers be surprised to find out about you? Rick: I'm very passionate about civil and equal rights. I believe we are all equal no matter our gender, race, religion, and sexual orientation.

Many writers make the mistake of preaching their opinion and their opinion alone. Many writers focus on one particular belief or theory and speak the words as if it is gospel. Rick successfully offered an array of useful knowledge, which allows the reader to determine on their own what is best for them as far as the science of the paranormal, the religious intervention, and even the potential folklore. The Geek s Guide will be of interest to the ghost story lover and the research guru. I would recommend Rick s work to any person wishing to expand their knowledge on the subject from the beginner to the seasoned veteran.
