5 Background Information Formed in 2001 to deliver NOAA products and services to the Pacific Region Regional Branch of the Coastal Services Center Supports the ocean and coastal management communities of Hawai`i, American Samoa, the CNMI, and Guam

9 Coastal and Marine Natural Resources Objectives Hazard preparedness and response planning Integrate natural resource considerations into policy and response planning for natural hazards and hazardous materials Clean-up, and restore contaminated sites Remove grounded and abandoned vessels; restore affected areas; and develop local policy Support local efforts to improve management of areas identified as having important ecosystem functions
