1 You will be assigned an element from the periodic table. Using a variety of resources, such as the website below, you will research and collect specific data that is relevant to the element. chemistry/periodic- table- project#interactive Using the information you collected, you will create a diorama. Make sure you read all the instructions so that you understand the expectations of this project. For this diorama, you will need a standard- sized shoebox about 18cm by 33cm (if you do not have a shoebox, make sure you let your teacher know as soon as possible so that one can be provided for you). You will use the box to collect and store your supplies so that when you are ready to create your final product, everything will be in one place. Your diorama, however, will be constructed on the inside of the lid and must include the following information about the element: element name the atomic mass number the atomic number at least 5 items or pictures of items that can or has been made from the element number of protons and electrons period and group a Bohr model of your atom with the correct number of energy levels (orbitals) At the end of this project, we will create a giant periodic table that we will display on the wall.

8 To get all available points, ensure the project includes the following: Element diorama is attractive and interesting. Project is neat, organized and denotes EFFORT. Handwriting is very neat and legible or typed. Typed write-ups must include each question restated in the answer. MUST BE IN INK! NO PENCIL! Write-up has no spelling errors and answers are in complete sentences. Facts are double-checked for accuracy Writing is original and in your own words. No copying word- for- word allowed! Question answers are accurate and demonstrate research. All questions are answered in complete sentences. Write-ups that are typed must have questions restated within the answer.
