2017 April Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell. The Balance of Reciprocity March is my Birthday Month and in my later years I have been enjoying celebrating in bigger ways than in my younger years. When I was 29 years old I had boy girl twins just two days after my birthday. I figured my birthday wouldn't be a big deal for the next many years because I would be more focused on celebrating my twins birthday. I did manage to create many ceremonial moments, mainly through hiking in the mountains surrounding Tucson. I have at least two magical stories to share about ceremonial birthday hikes, though it may be next year before I can get to writing them. Right now we are still moving in to our new home while I juggle work projects, online classes I am co-facilitating, and a trip to Santa Fe to visit Peter's family plus two trips coming up in about three weeks. The trip to Santa Fe was lots of fun and I am so grateful. So many unexpected gifts have come my way this month, including getting a chance to see a very dear priestess sister and friend who is now living in Taos, catching up with our Santa Fe friend and artist, and seeing some incredible places around Santa Fe with near perfect weather. One of the gifts I am contemplating is the gift of reciprocity...the balance between giving and receiving. For many years I have felt way out of balance - giving way more than I felt I received, via volunteering time to causes I love furthering, supporting my children whenever I can, supporting friends when possible and so much more. I don't know how I turned that corner, but now I feel I am receiving more than I ever have in very real tangible ways as I wake up everyday in a spacious home with fabulous mountain and sky views that supports me in the work I do. I have this sense of the universe delighting in what has come together somewhat effortlessly for Peter and me. For the first time in a long time I feel I am in greater balance with the experience of reciprocity truly showing up in my life YAY 2017 April Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell Page 1

Find out more in this article Stars worth noting in the Night Sky this Month The constellation of the Virgin Priestess (a.k.a. Virgo) contains seven main stars. Of these sevens main stars the most visible is Spica, meaning "spike of grain." Higher in the sky and off to the right of the Virgin Priestess is the constellation of the Lion. Prominent in the Lion s tale is the star Denebola marking the end of the tale. Gazing from Spica to the bright red star above it is the bear star known as Arcturus. These three bright stars Arcturus, Spica, and Denebola form a star group that has been called the Spring Triangle or the Virgo Triangle. The best time to view this triangle is April through June looking South Southeast Sunset. See this link for in-depth article on the Spring Triangle. Lyrida Meteor shower peaks April The waning Moon supports the viewing of this meteor shower under dark skies. These meteors are swift and bright disintegrating after hitting our atmosphere. They move at a moderate speed of 29.8 miles per second and are known to produce luminous trains of dust that can be observed for several seconds April Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell Page 4

Reminder: All the events listed in the Celestial Timings have a minimum three day impact including the day before and the day after. In many cases, the planetary effects extend into weeks, months and even years. Noting the sign and degree of the aspects and planets helps you to know if these events are directly affecting your own natal chart. The Celestial Timings then are a great guide to sensing into how these energies affect us collectively and also when to pay extra close attention to the personal initiations we all go through. All our life activities are structured by the day, month, year cycles but we forget that these cycles are founded on astronomical data used by astrologers since very ancient times. ~ Cycles of Becoming by Alexander Ruperti (available through Earthwalk School of Astrology The Sacred Hoop of Stars (as they were known to the Lakota Sioux and other Plains Indians) are high in the sky after Sunset. This configuration of stars is what astronomer s sometimes call the winter hexagon though the Sacred Hoop includes the Pleiades on the outer edge rather than Aldebaran, the eye of the Bull. The top star of the Hoop this month is Capella and moving clockwise includes the Pleiades, Rigel, Sirius, and Procyon, and Pollux and Castor. The Ecliptic (plane of the solar system and the path the planets travel) and the Milky Way (plane of the galaxy) intersect near the middle of this hoop of Stars forming a cross within a circle. The place of the intersection occurs at what is called the Galactic Edge, where we look out beyond our Galaxy. The center point of the cross is located between the feet of the Twins and the horns of the Bull. This intersection is the place in the sky where the summer solstice (0 degree Cancer) is currently located. Orion and the Hyades are located inside the Sacred Hoop and are easily spotted this time of year. Interestingly, the Mayans perceived the sword of Orion as a sacred fire of creation inside a fire pit. Modern astronomers have discovered this is a place where new stars are being birthed! Heaven s Gate is a configuration of Stars that form a great equilateral triangle with two stars that form the outer edge of the Sacred Hoop already mentioned and they are Sirius and Procyon. The third star is Betelgeuse marking the shoulder of Orion. These stars were known as Heavens Gate to Alaskan Shaman s and represent another version of an entry point or entrance into incarnation. Sacred Hoop Article Another stellar triangle is also becoming more visible this month rising later in the evening marking the tail of the Lion and featuring the bright star Denebola, 43 light years away. Daily Celestial Timings for April 2017 all times are PDT unless otherwise specified April 01, Saturday. All Fool's Day. The genesis of our current understanding of April Fool s Day grew out of the 1582 change in the calendar instituted by Pope Gregory shifting New Year s Day from April 1 to January 1. News traveled slowly in those days and for various reasons many continued to celebrate New Year's Day on April First. Those who continued to celebrate New Year s in April became known as April Fools and was a way to pressure individuals into conforming to a calendar that was designed to focus awareness on physical evidence and promote materialism and commerce April Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell Page 5

It has been highly successful not only in focusing consciousness on materialism but also in disconnecting us from the magical world including the natural cycles of the Earth and Sky. The mission of Shamanic Astrology is to remind us of the magical connection between the Earth and Sky while also recovering a deeper connection to the natural cycles in ways that enhance our intuitive knowing and consciousness connection to Great Mystery. Moon occults Aldebaran (10 Gemini 02') at 2:08 am for the 31st time since this series of 49 occultations that began in January of 2015 and ends in September of Aldebaran is one the four royal stars, linked with Archangel Michael and the Silver Gate - or the place that many ancient cultures consider was the entrance into this realm of experience. Aldebaran is near Orion and both are located inside the Sacred Hoop. Evidence suggests the Giza Pyramids are modeled after the belt of Orion. There are also Hopi kivas in Arizona that are oriented to the appearance of Orion above their main kiva at Winter Solstice. Plus, the three mesas of Hopi are said to represent the belt of Orion. The As Above, So Below connections to sacred sites around the Globe are often profoundly linked to significant stars or star patterns in the night sky. As the Moon amps up its transmission of these mysteries to Earth via an occultation it maybe helpful to remember these sacred connections. In ancient times the 'Records of Remembrance' were hidden deep within the Earth physically and dimensionally, under, above and around sacred sites We all carry within us cellular awareness of every sacred site ever issued to Earth, from the beginning of time on earth throughout time in our immediate solar system. It is just a matter of fine tuning our intention to receive these energies. April 02, Sunday. The Moon enters Cancer at 11:27am energizing the mysteries of nurturing ourselves and others. Retrograde Venus enters Pisces at 5:25 pm taking a deeper look at Fierce Compassion as an essential tool for transforming our world! April 03, Monday. The First Quarter Moon (14 Cancer 12) is exact 11:39 am inside the Sacred Hoop of Stars. This Moon phase is ideal for taking decisive inspired action toward stepping up the qualities of nurturing for self and others. The Moon then passes the fixed star Castor (20 Cancer 29') at 10:32 pm. April 04, Tuesday. The Moon passes Pollux (23 Cancer 27') at 3:43 am exiting the Sacred Hoop of stars. More about this here The Moon then enters Leo at 3:13 pm emphazing the mysteries of healthy self-love. When we love ourselves in a healthy way it means we can more effectively shine the divine light of who we are changing the collective vibration, thus changing the world. April 05, Wednesday. Saturn (27 Sagittarius 48') stations retrograde at 10:06 pm Pacific Time and early tomorrow morning for those in Central and Eastern time zones right at Galactic Center suggesting the planet that has to do with structure and form is 2017 April Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell Page 6

transmitting new possibilities right from the center of our Galaxy. April 06, Thursday. The Moon enters Virgo at 9:20pm and passes Regulus (00 Virgo 04') at 9:27 pm, the heart star of the Lion linked with the hall of records we carry in our own DNA. What are the hidden messages the Moon is transmitting now to support our journey through life? April 07, Friday. The Moon conjuncts the North Node (02 Virgo 40') at 2:14 am and the Sun (18 Aries 15') is opposite retrograde Jupiter (18 Libra 15') at 2:39 pm meaning Jupiter is rising as the Sun is setting and vice versa. April 08, Saturday. Retrograde Venus (27 Pisces47') squares retrograde Saturn (27 Sag 47') at 1:28 pm. The Moon passes the tail of the Lion known as the star Denebola (21 Virgo 52') at 2:07 pm. The Sun (19 Aries 22') squares Pluto (19 Capricorn 22') exact at 5:49 pm. Whenever the Sun squares Pluto it signals the slowing of Pluto s progress through the sky just before its retrograde station. In this case Pluto stations retrograde on April 20 at 19 Capricorn 24. The Sun is further illuminating any fear and shadow places that are operating from fear and not enough. These shadow elements include limiting beliefs about who we are, our forgotten and/or denied talents, abilities and skills, our buried feelings, and our unconscious wounds especially around relationship with self and others. For those with planets or angles between 16 and 20 degrees of Householder Signs a.k.a. Cardinal signs (Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, Libra) you are on the leading edge of this Pluto initiation suggesting it is time to die to who you believe yourself to be and open to an empowered rebirth. Surrendering your attachments and letting go of the old forms is a powerful way to engage the Pluto initiatory process. (see April 20) When we are willing to turn toward what we fear and integrate it in our life we are no longer driven by it. When we are no longer driven by fear - it loses its power to choose where we are going. We shift our experience from being at the effect of what we fear and being driven by that fear to incorporating the fear in such a way that it becomes our strength, our gift, the medicine we carry. Willingness to engage your shadow including any fears, or ideas, or beliefs, or things you are hanging onto, releasing whatever is ready to leave your life, supports the empowering process Pluto initiations intend for us. April 09, Sunday. The Moon enters Libra at 5:34 am opening the Libra Full Moon Window exact tomorrow. Mercury (4 Taurus 51) stations retrograde at 4:15 pm, deepening our perception of the Taurus mysteries of pleasure, beauty and the ability to receive, savor and enjoy the moment. April 10, Monday. Moon catches up to retrograde Jupiter (17 Libra 52') at 3:58 pm. The Libra Full Moon is exact at 11:08 pm Pacific (21 Libra 23) very near Spica at 2:08 am tomorrow morning for those on the East Coast. The Libra Full Moon is always followed by Easter Sunday on April 20 this year. This Full Moon is energizing the mysteries around 2017 April Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell Page 7

relationship awareness with ourselves and others. Co-creative relationships enhance the energy and creativity of those involved. April 11, Tuesday. The still very Full Moon catches up to Spica (24 Libra 05'), the sacred star of the Divine Feminine that reminds us we reap what we sow at 4:06 pm and then enters Scorpio at 3:42 pm activating the mysteries of death, rebirth and edgewalking. The concept of edgewalking is often scary and takes us out of our comfort zones. Some willingly walk the edges of life while others only do so when forced by circumstances. In these times it can be most helpful to be willing to walk the edges of the old and the new ways, bridging what has been with what is emerging. Embracing the mysteries of death, trusting there is always a rebirth emerging out of what has been this is edgewalking - pushing beyond known edges into unexplored territory where new life and growth occur. April 12, Wednesday. The Moon passes Zubenelgenubi (15 Scorpio 20) at 10:02 pm, one of the pans of the scales closest to the path the planets follow. What awareness would help you find greater balance? April 13, Thursday. The Moon passes Antares (10 Sagittarius 00') the heart of the Scorpion and watcher of the west at 11:38 pm tonight for those on the west coast and 2:37 am tomorrow for those on the East Coast. April 14, Friday. Good Friday. For many Catholics and Christians around the world this begins the Easter with Easter Sunday on April 16 is the celebration of his Resurrection. Good Friday and Easter Sunday have been celebrated as the two feasts of the Pasch; the Pascha staurosimon (the passage to death), and the Pascha anastasimon (the passage to life as in the Resurrection). Any Friday is considered a Holy Day. Good Friday is the holy of holy Fridays and there are those who believe that Good came from the historical reference that it is "God's Friday." These Feast Days, or Holy Days, commemorate aspects of Great Mystery or the Sacred Mysteries depending on the cultural traditions in ways that are intended to inspire greater commitment to a spiritual life. The Moon enters Sagittarius at 3:27 am energizing the spiritual quest for truth. Not humanity s made up truth but the divine truth, the unchanging pure essence of truth. What do you believe is true today that you did not believe was true a few years ago? Is what you believe really true or only true because you believe it? The Sun passes Uranus (24 Aries 28') late last night for those on the west coast or at 1:29 am this morning for those on the east coast. Uranus meeting with the Sun in the season of Spring illuminates an awakening process that may be unexpected and revolutionary. This is about trusting the divine energy that is guiding us at this time even if it doesn t make sense. Aries is a Solar energy committed to protecting the cosmic order. When Uranus is in Aries there is an impetus for rewriting new stories about the Solar Heroes and Heroines who have entered this dimension for a specific mission or purpose. The entrance point for their heroic mission is through the Sun or Source of light passing through the Earth s core further activating the latent light codes of awakening that support the successful fulfillment of our divinely ordained mission or purpose. One way to participate with this activation is to greet the Sun as it rises, or passes overhead, or sets, with the intent that this activity of connecting with the Sun is aligning you with the Divine light frequencies that are yours to express and these 2017 April Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell Page 8

light frequencies are filling you with a deeper understanding of your mission or purpose. April 15, Saturday. Venus (26 Pisces 55) stations direct at 3:17 am, on April 17, 2009 Venus stationed direct at 28 Pisces. That year Venus stationed retrograde on March 7. This year Venus stationed retrograde on March 4th. This marks the preparation phase of Inanna s journey to the underworld representing a decisive moment in the Venus cycle - signaling the beginning of her descent towards the first gate into the underworld. (See April 23). Find out more about this all important Venus cycle through these free videos offered by me and Tami. April 16, Sunday. Happy Easter. Easter always falls on the first Sunday after the First Full Moon after the Spring Equinox. The Moon passes retrograde Saturn (27 Sagittarius 42') at 11:26 am and then enters Capricorn at 4:05 pm suggesting this is a good time to take responsible action that gets results. April 17, Monday. Today is the live Venus Ceremonial Tele-Class preparing for Inanna s passage through the first gate into the underworld where she releases her crown. We would love to have you join us for this sacred journey. Details are at this link The Sun (27 Aries 41) trines retrograde Saturn (27 Sagittarius 41) at 5:43 am an event that always occurs after Saturn stations retrograde signaling the Still Point of Saturn as it access the place of all possibilities. April 18, Tuesday. The Moon catches up to Pluto (19 Sagittarius 24) at 6:58 am. Pluto in Capricorn is dismantling the old rules that have defined our collective existence and are why we are so out of balance with the Earth at this time. Capricorn has been limited to a view of reality that is about primarily valuing productivity without regard for the effects on the individual or the planet. Both Mercury and Uranus in Aries are acting as the revolutionary change agents instigating change by whatever means it takes. The more entrenched the old forms are the more unexpected, uncontrollable, and unforeseen the changes will be. Resistance is futile and also creates a lot more pain in the process than is necessary. Surrendering to the changes that are ultimately beyond our control and rolling with the flow of evolutionary change is the most useful strategy for navigating this time. Plus new ideas, new ways of perceiving reality are possible. Here is an example that was recently stated by Pope Francis reported in the New Yorker magazine. Who am I to judge? With those five words, spoken in late July in reply to a reporter s question about the status of gay priests in the Church, Pope Francis stepped away from the disapproving tone, the explicit moralizing typical of Popes and bishops. This gesture of openness, which startled the Catholic world, would prove not to be an isolated event. In a series of interviews and speeches in the first few months after his election, in March, the Pope unilaterally declared a kind of truce in the culture wars that have divided the Vatican and much of the world. Repeatedly, he argued that the Church s purpose was more to proclaim God s merciful love for all people than to condemn sinners for having fallen short of strictures, especially those having to do with gender and sexual orientation. From the New Yorker 2017 April Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell Page 9

April 19, Wednesday. The Capricorn Last Quarter Moon (29 Capricorn 32) is exact at 2:57 am. Then the Moon moves into Aquarius at 3:52 am. The Last Quarter Moon is a time to decide a course of action intended to integrate the current cycle Moon Cycle preparing to end and begin again. In the Capricorn domain the decision may be about how to more effectively administrate the domain of our earthly life and how it effects the next seven generations. How do you contribute to the health and well being of your personal and collective environment? Are you doing everything you can to help create a green environment? Do you take cloth bags to the grocery store? Are you buying locally grown food whenever possible? Are you wisely using water? Do you waste it by leaving the faucet running when you brush your teeth or wipe off the counters? Do you turn off lights when you are not in a room? Do you walk or bike whenever possible? Are you a responsible Global Citizen? The Sun moves into Taurus at 2:27 pm illuminating the mysteries of sacred pleasure. In The Charge of the Goddess found in Starhawk s book The Spiral Dance the Goddess tell us: All acts of love and pleasure are my rituals. This references a time when sacred pleasure was valued as a highly spiritual experience years ago as the matriarchy was ending and the patriarchy was beginning many of the ceremonial traditions were overturned in favor of religious concepts designed to remove people from a direct spiritual connection with the Divine so they could be more easily controlled. This began the erosion of the understanding and experience of sexuality and pleasure as important expressions, creating instead a belief that that these things were evil. This was when pain and suffering became the primary sacrament. Along with this the major religions also carry with them threats of even greater pain (i.e. burning in the fires of hell for all eternity) if you sin (or break the rules). Again this has proven to be an effective fear-based control program.. Thankfully humanity is waking up to these deceptions. As the Sun passes through the Taurus domain this next month it is a time for noticing how pleasure enhances your life. Do you allow yourself do enjoy the pleasure of life as one of the highest most sacred experiences we humans can have??? Are you willing to return to the Garden of Earthly delight as your divine heritage by embracing the gifts of sacred pleasure? The Sun and retrograde Mercury (00 Taurus 21) are conjunct at 10:54 pm. This is when Mercury is sourcing its new incarnation that will begin when Mercury stations direct on May 3 at 24 Aries. April 20, Thursday. Pluto (19 Capricorn 24) stations retrograde at 5:46 am suggesting a further dismantling of the old rules that have defined our collective existence and are why we are so out of balance with the Earth at this time is taking place. Capricorn has been limited to a view of reality that is about primarily valuing productivity without regard for the effects on the individual or the planet. True Capricorn is interested in sustainability into at least the next seven generations. Retrograde Mercury returns to Aries at 10:37 am suggesting this is a time to consider what your next action steps are to further the cause you feel most aligned with furthering. This may be the cause of your personal work or family, it may be protecting all children, animals, forests, oceans, water ways. April 21, Friday. Mars enters Gemini at 3:32 am crossing into the Sacred Hoop 2017 April Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell Page 10

and passing the Pleiades. Venus (27 Pisces 30) and Saturn (27 Sagittarius 30) are square for the second time this month at 4:10 am. The Moon enters Pisces at 12:43 pm and catches up to the Royal Star Fomalhuat (4 Pisces 06) at 08:09 pm. Fomalhaut is the watcher of the South and connected to the divine messenger. April 22, Saturday. Earth Day. Peak of the Lyrids Meteor Shower (see intro). Moon occults Neptune (13 Pisces 29) at 12:58 pm suggesting that it is what we are feeling that can be our greatest guide to get us where our soul most intends to go. If you feel confused and uncertain, go deeper in to where your inner knowing lives and follow that guidance. Taking the next step will lead to the next step and so on April 23, Sunday. The Moon passes Chiron (26 Pisces 58') at 12:22 pm and then catches up to Venus (28 Pisces 15) at 2:34 pm and then moves into Aries at 5:32 pm. This is the first Venus Moon Gate representing the Crown Chakra release as the Aries Wild Woman makes her descent to face the dark goddess within. Retrograde Mercury is about to pass Uranus for the second time with the possibility of more unexpected and unplanned for events that are intended to expand our perspective and awaken our awareness to the next octave. April 25, Tuesday. Moon conjuncts Uranus (25 Aries 10) at 11:04 am retrograde Mercury (26 Aries 49) at 1:29 pm. This could easily be a day of unexpected events that shifts our perspective and expands our awareness. The nearly New Moon enters Taurus at 6:56 pm. (see April 26) April 26, Wednesday. The Taurus New Moon (06 Taurus 27) is exact at 5:16 am illuminating the mysteries of personal intimacy, sacred pleasure and the art of authentic receivership. All of these mysteries have been severely wounded by the 2017 April Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell Page 11

current cultural beliefs that train us to believe intimacy is scary, pleasure is a sin and giving is more blessed than receiving. One of the quickest ways to reverse these misconceptions is to practice daily, moment by moment, Gratitude. Truly Gratitude is one of the primary keys designed to raise our vibration and support a genuine experience of fully savoring and enjoying life. Here are some thoughts on gratitude to further inspire your own experience of this highly transformative vibratory energy. Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy -- because we will always want to have something else or something more.~ Brother David Steindl-Rast Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others. ~Cicero Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude. ~Denis Waitley As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. ~ John F. Kennedy April 27, Thursday. The Moon moves into Gemini at 6:39 pm. It maybe possible to see a tiny Crescent Moon tonight after sunset low on the western horizon depending on your time zone. If not tonight then for sure by tomorrow April 28. April 28, Friday. The Moon conjuncts Mars (04 Gemini 48') at 2:16 am occults Aldebaran (10 Gemini) for the second time this month at 10:35 am. (See April 1) Aldebaran, is the eye of the Bull, also referred to as the great "red giant" one of the four stars considered to be "Guardians of Heaven." There are four guardian stars, Antares, Fomalhaut, Regulus and Aldebaran, also referred to as the sentinels watching over the other stars by the ancients. Each one of these stars are linked with the four archangels. Aldebaran, Watcher of the East, is the star of archangel Michael, known for promoting protection, courage, strength, truth, and integrity, with a Heavenly Host of angels that are ready to help when we need it. It is also interesting to note that Michael is the only Archangel written about in the all three major religions including the Torah (Judaism), the Bible (Christianity), and the Qur'an (Islam). Aldebaran has also been known as "the Leading Star of Stars", because there was a time when all ecliptic longitudes were measured from Aldebaran and its exact opposite star, Antares. This current series of Moon occultations over Aldebaran are very important as they are exponentially increasing activating and transmitting the light codes of information Aldebaran carries. Retrograde Mercury passes Uranus (25 Aries 17') at 7:49 am suggesting unexpected, unplanned for events may occur in the few days before and after this exact event today. Having stationed direct in late Pisces on April 15, Venus returns to the Zero Aries Point at 6:13 am. This is the last of three passes of Venus over the March Equinox point, an event that will not reoccur until This means Venus is 2017 April Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell Page 12

This teleclass will explore the symbolism of Saturn in Sagittarius, in relationship with Chiron in Pisces, recalling the seeds planted in This class will consider what could happen and what is intended to happen, as best as we can surmise and invoke. We will also consider how to consciously align with these remarkable symbols of revolution and cultural transformation, and their antagonists. This triple square of Saturn (currently in late Sagittarius) to Chiron (currently in late Pisces) First One was late December of 2016 around 21 Sag/21 Pisces. The second square is in early May at about 27 Sag/27 Pisces. The third square is November 2017 at about 24 Sag/24 Pisces. Sign-up HERE April Celestial Timings by Cayelin K Castell Page 13
