Presented by: Brien Green, Account Manager, Bentley Systems Daniel Lee, Business Analyst, Port of Long Beach The Port of Long Beach recognized significant inefficiencies in their operating processes which were caused by time consuming re-creation of data and lack of a content management environment. In 2007, the port initiated a $26 million, 5 year technology plan to transform the information management infrastructure, which included CAD, GIS, Document Management, and Asset Management. This presentation will discuss the business drivers and process improvements associated with the Ports decision to upgrade their system solutions. ABOUT THE SPEAKERS BRIEN GREEN is Bentley's State Account Manager for Western States and has worked with hundreds of organizations to leverage spatial technologies to overcome business challenges. DANIEL LEE has been working for the Port of Long Beach, Information Management division as a Business Analysts/Project Manager since His primary role is to manage the Ports Enterprise Geographic Information System and has recently taken on the added responsibility of managing the CAD system. He works primarily with the Engineering Division and Maintenance supporting their need to manage and gain access to facilities information such as water, sewer, and stormwater. Specifically, Mr. Lee has spent the last four years developing workflows to integrate GIS, CAD, Maintenance Management System, and Document Management System. Mr. Lee s previous work experience includes working for CH2M Hill as a GIS consultant/developer and with ESRI as a GIS Instructor. The majority of work with CH2M Hill related to developing GIS applications for managing sanitary system information. As a GIS instructor for ESRI, Mr. Lee focused on ArcObject Programming and spatial database (i.e. ArcSDE Database).
