2 OCPS GIS History Prior to 2002 OCPS used MapInfo and largely created own data sets GIS was used primarily by Pupil Assignment to map rezoning options and display school attendance boundaries In 2003 a GIS Steering Committee was formed to coordinate GIS efforts within OCPS In 2003 ESRI software and a server was purchased to facilitate the sharing of GIS data sets across OCPS departments t 2

3 Data Coordination In 2003 began to develop relationships with Orange County Government and the Orange County Property Appraiser s Office In 2006 signed an Interlocal Agreement with the Property Appraiser s Office for the purpose of data and cost sharing In 2007 began an Interlocal Planner s group with iho Orange County and dl local l municipalities i lii as part of School Concurrency 3
