3 About The University North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon is ranked as the top 50 universities in India. A survey made by India Today in 2013, NMU, Jalgaon is ranked 40 amongst 620 universities in India. North Maharashtra University was established by Govt. of Maharashtra in India at Jalgaon on August 15, It has its jurisdiction over North Maharashtra region comprising of three districts- Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar. The campus is spread over 650 acres on hilly terrain and developed with beautiful, spacious, academic, administrative and residential buildings that include thirteen schools and one Institute to impart relevant higher education to the students with highly motivated faculty in order to promote the environment for global and dynamic education. School of Chemical Sciences The School of Chemical Sciences was established in The School is recognized under UGC-SAP and DST-FIST since The School of Chemical Sciences conducts four applied courses, M.Sc. Chemistry with specialization in Polymer Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Pesticides & Agrochemicals and Analytical Chemistry along with two basic courses, M.Sc. Physical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. The mission of the School is to impart and disseminate knowledge, develop competencies and provide R & D in emerging areas of Polymer Sciences, Synthesis and Applications including Nano-materials, Supramolecular Chemistry, Molecular Recognitions, Ionic liquids, Organic Compounds, Medicinal Compounds, Heterocyclic Compounds, Pesticides and Agrochemicals, etc.
