30 Future links between CCI and Copernicus Marine Service Copernicus Marine Service Satellite Thematic Assembly Centers (TACs) " CCI Level 2+, 3 and 4 data processing (> 20 years). Reprocessed data sets for ocean reanalyses and to directly serve external users (incl. climate and ocean state assessment). Copernicus Marine Service Modelling and Forecasting Centers (MFCs) " CCI Reanalysis activities organized at the level of each MFCs: global and regional. Not specifically targeted for climate applications but ensemble of low resolution global ocean reanalyses are carried out specifically for climate issues (incl. ocean state assessment). CCI and MyOcean projects have been developed independently. Still, over the past couple of years, MyOcean TACs and MFCs have benefited from algorithm improvements and new products developed in CCI projects. CCI projects have in return benefited from MyOcean infrastructure and expertise. Very positive but was not a priori guaranteed. This is mainly the result of the willingness of a few technical teams to work together. In the future, a more formal coordination between CCI (ocean ECVs), the Copernicus Marine Service and Climate Service should be established. CCI reprocessing for ocean ECVs (sea level, SST, ocean colour, sea ice) could be, in particular, jointly planned/organized with the reprocessing and reanalysis activities of the Copernicus Marine Service.
