1 Snow Tonight and Sunday Decision Support Briefing #4 As of 4:00 PM Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019 What Has Changed? Winter Storm Warning has been issued for portions of Delmarva and the Winter Weather Advisory has been expanded further north. Snow amounts increased for areas along and south of the PA turnpike/i- 195 corridor Snow now expected to continue into Sunday evening across Delmarva and far southeastern NJ
2 Main Points Hazard Impacts Location Timing Heavy Snow 5 to 7 inches of snow will create very hazardous travel conditions where a Winter Storm Warning has been issued. Roadways will be snow covered. Inland locations of central and southern Delaware and the Maryland counties of Talbot, Queen Anne s, and Caroline. Light snow is expected overnight hours. The snow may be heavy at times during the day on Sunday. Snow is expected to taper off Sunday night. Rain/Snow Snow, mixing with rain at times may create hazardous travel conditions. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are possible. Coastal southern Delaware. Snow is expected to begin tonight. Rain may mix with snow during the day Sunday, before changing back to all snow Sunday evening. Snow is expected to taper off Sunday night. Snow 2 to 5 inches of snow will create hazardous travel conditions where a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued. Roadways may become snow covered. Philadelphia, Chester, and Delaware counties in PA, far northern Delmarva, and southern New Jersey. Snow is expected to begin late tonight and continue through the day on Sunday. Snow may linger through Sunday night especially across southeastern NJ.

4 Expected Snowfall Accumulations Uncertainty in Snowfall Forecast: Confidence is increasing, though there remains a chance for locally higher amounts.
5 Probabilistic Snowfall Forecast Low End Potential 9 in 10 (90%) Chance of Higher Snowfall Than Depicted Below High End Potential 1 in 10 (10%) Chance of Higher Snowfall Than Depicted Below
6 Event Summary Snow is expected to begin this evening. It is expected to continue through at least Sunday afternoon before tapering off from north to south. Snow may linger in Delmarva and southeastern New Jersey Sunday night. There is the potential for 5 to 7 inches of snow in eastern Maryland, and inland locations of central and southern Delaware where a Winter Storm Warning has been issued. Amounts are expected to be lower in coastal southern Delaware where a mix of rain and snow is possible on Sunday. For other areas along and south of the PA turnpike/interstate 195 corridors, 2 to 5 inches of snow is expected. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect. Small Craft Advisory conditions are expected on the coastal waters of New Jersey and Delaware, and on Delaware Bay from Sunday afternoon into Sunday night. Wind gusts may approach but should remain below gale force. Coastal flooding is not expected with this system.
