Proper Hijri caendar, Time Mode, and Moon Age data depend on correct Home, time, and date settings in the Timekeeping Mode. 2 Operation Guide 3448 Seecting a Mode The iustration beow shows which buttons you need to press to navigate between modes. To return to the Timekeeping Mode from any other mode, hod down for about two seconds. In any mode (except when a setting screen is on the dispay), press to iuminate the dispay. Auto Return Features If you eave the watch in the mode beow for two or three minutes without performing any operation, it automaticay changes to the Timekeeping Mode. Aarm Mode If you eave a screen with fashing digits on the dispay for two or three minutes without performing any operation, the watch exits the setting screen automaticay. Scroing The and buttons are used on the setting screen to scro through data on the dispay. In most cases, hoding down these buttons during a scro operation scros through the data at high speed. Initia Screens When you enter the modes beow, the data you were viewing when you ast exited the mode appears first. Word Time Mode Aarm Mode E-12 E-13 Timekeeping Timekeeping screen (Gregorian) Use the Timekeeping Mode to set and view the current time and date. To check the Hijri caendar and Moon age at noon of the current date, press A. If you do not perform any operation for three or four seconds, the watch wi return to the Gregorian caendar automaticay. The HIJRI indicator on the dispay indicates that the Hijri caendar date is dispayed. If you press whie the eapsed prayer time of the current day s fina prayer (page E-35) is dispayed or if 30 minutes pass after the current day's fina prayer, the Moon age wi appear on the dispay and remain dispayed unti midnight. Map: In the Timekeeping and Word Time modes, the map shows the zone where the currenty dispayed digita time is from. In the Aarm, Stopwatch, and ountdown Timer modes, it shows the zone of the currenty seected Home Time. When setting a ocation that does not have a city code assigned, you can seect a city code from T1 to T3 (page L-1). When T1 through T3 is seected, press and then use and to seect the time offset. 3. Press to dispay the ST setting onfiguring Home Settings Setting There are two methods you can use to configure Home settings: seecting a Home and then seecting standard time or dayight saving time (ST), or seecting T1 to T3 and then specifying a UT* offset. * oordinated Universa Time (UT) is the goba time standard used to reguate time. ode To configure Home settings 1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hod down A for about two seconds. Reease the button as soon as the fashing Hod SET indicator disappears from the dispay and the currenty seected city code fashes on the dispay. This indicates the Home setting mode. Press to togge between ayight Saving Time (ST ON) and Standard Time (ST OFF). 5. When the setting is the way you want, press A twice to return to the Timekeeping Mode. The ST indicator appears, indicating that ayight Saving Time is in effect. Note After you specify a city code, the watch wi use UT offsets to cacuate the current time for other time zones based on the current time in your Home. E-16 E-17 onfiguring Latitude and Longitude Settings for Your urrent Location You can ensure correct dispay of prayer times, and moon ages by configuring atitude and ongitude settings for your current ocation. To change the ayight Saving Time (summer time) setting 1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hod down A for about two Setting seconds. This watch dispays Hijri caendar months and days. The watch normay cacuates and dispays Hijri caendar dates automaticay. If necessary, you can correct the dispayed data by ±3 days. To change the current time and date settings 1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hod down A for about two seconds. Reease the button as soon as the fashing Hod SET indicator disappears from the dispay and the currenty seected city code fashes on the dispay. This indicates the Home setting mode. Hoding down A too ong wi dispay the prayer aarm enabe/disabe setting screen (page E-32). Press A twice to exit the setting The day of the week is dispayed automaticay in accordance with the date (year, month, and day) settings. Note hanging your Home setting wi cause a of the foowing settings to become initiaized: atitude and ongitude (to the ocation of the Home ), the prayer cacuation method (Fajr, Isha, Asr). Note that these settings are not initiaized when T1 to T3 is seected for the Home setting. E-25 12/24-Hour Format With the 12-hour format, the P indicator appears to the eft of the hour digits for times in the range of noon to 11:59 p.m. and no indicator appears to the eft of the hour digits for times in the range of midnight to 11:59 a.m. With the 24-hour format, times are dispayed in the range of 0:00 to 23:59, without any indicator. The 12-hour/24-hour timekeeping format you seect in the Timekeeping Mode is appied in a other modes. E-26 To specify a Hijri date offset 1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hod down A for about five seconds unti the ON or OFF starts to fash. Reease A as soon as the fashing starts. This dispays the prayer aarm enabe/disabe setting 2. Press A. This dispays Hijri caendar date offset setting 3. Use (+) and ( ) to change the offset within a HIJRI indicator range of ±3 days. 4. When the setting is the way you want, press A. This wi dispay the corrected Hijri date. Note The Hijri offset setting is temporary. At the end of each month, the watch automaticay corrects the Hijri date and returns the Hijri offset to 0. E-27 Note that the Hijri offset aso returns to 0 whenever you change the watch s Gregorian date setting or the atitude and/or ongitude settings. hanging the watch s Gregorian date setting can cause an error in the dispayed Hijri date unti the watch performs automatic Hijri date correction at the end of the month (on the 29th or 30th day of the month). If the Hijri date dispay is wrong, adjust it by changing the Hijri date offset. Hijri aendar Precautions Hijri dates dispayed by this watch are the resuts of cacuations. Actua Hijri dates may be determined by reigious authorities based on observations of a New Moon foowing sundown. This can resut in dates cacuated by the watch being different from actua Hijri dates. E-28 Viewing Names and Times This watch is designed to dispay prayer name and prayer start times. The Today s Saat Time Screen shows prayer times and eapsed prayer time. A Time Aarm (which can be enabed or disabed) sounds for 10 seconds when each prayer time arrives. Press any button to stop the aarm after it starts to sound. About prayer times times are cacuated automaticay in accordance with the time, date, city code, and prayer time cacuation method you set in the Timekeeping Mode. This, of course, means that you shoud aways make sure that your Timekeeping Mode settings are configured correcty. Pressing A returns to the Timekeeping screen (Hijri/ Moon age) (page E-15). E-30 E-31 If the time of the next prayer arrives whie you are viewing today s prayer times, the watch wi perform a prayer aarm aert operation (page E-32) and return to the Timekeeping screen (Gregorian). To enabe or disabe a prayer aarm 1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hod down A for about five seconds unti the ON or OFF starts to fash. Reease A as soon as the fashing starts. This dispays the prayer aarm enabed/disabed setting This indicator shows the current aarm enabed/ disabed setting. 2. Press as many times as necessary to dispay the name of the prayer whose prayer aarm setting enabe/ disabe you want to change. If the prayer aarm of the dispayed prayer is enabed, SALAT wi be dispayed beow its prayer name. No indicator is shown if the dispayed aarm is disabed. E-32 SALAT wi not appear if the Hijri/Moon age Timekeeping screen or the Gregorian/Moon age Timekeeping screen (page E-15) is dispayed. 3. Press to togge the dispay aarm between enabed and disabed. 4. After the setting is the way you want, press A twice to return to the Timekeeping Mode. To stop a sounding prayer aarm Press any button. E-33 To switch a prayer aarm between audibe and sient In the Timekeeping Mode, hod down for about two seconds. This togges prayer aarms between audibe and sient ( ). If sient is set for the prayer aarm, wi be dispayed next to SALAT beow the prayer name. Nothing is dispayed next to SALAT beow the prayer name if audibe is set for the prayer aarm. A prayer aarms are sient whie sient is set for the prayer aarm. In this case the prayer name and time wi fash on the dispay when a prayer time is reached. The prayer aarm enabed/disabed setting is not changed. utton operation tones wi sound, even if sient is seected for the prayer aarm. To disabe button operation tones, see To enabe or disabe the button operation tone (page E-58). ispaying Eapsed Time The Timekeeping screen (Gregorian) shows eapsed time Eapsed prayer time up to 30 minutes foowing a prayer time, ony for prayers whose prayer aarm time is enabed. If 30 minutes eapse, the watch wi automaticay dispay the next prayer name and prayer start time. 30 minutes after the current day's fina prayer, the Timekeeping screen (Gregorian/Moon age) wi appear and remain dispayed unti midnight. E-34 E-35 Whie the prayer eapsed time is dispayed, you can press to dispay the next prayer name and prayer start time. Whie the current day's fina prayer time is dispayed, you can press to dispay the Gregorian/Moon age Timekeeping screen (page E-15), which wi remain dispayed unti midnight. Pressing A wi dispay the Hijri/Moon age Timekeeping screen (page E-15) for about three or four seconds. After that, the eapsed prayer time wi re-appear. E-36 About prayer time cacuation methods s that are used to determine prayer times (especiay Fajr, Asr, and Isha) differ somewhat between countries and regions. This watch comes with a tota of five buit-in prayer time cacuation methods that conform with various geographica areas around the word. In addition, you can aso set your own cacuation method for cacuation of Fajr, Asr, and Isha. This wi dispay the [ISHA] setting This setting can be configured ony if you seect [- - - (USTOM)] for the prayer time cacuation method, above. If you seect any method other than [- - - (USTOM)], a defaut ISHA setting is appied. 8. Use the and buttons to scro through the ISHA settings on the dispay as shown beow :30 1:30 2:00 Scroing from 10.0 to 20.0 is in units of :30: 90 minutes after Maghrib 1:30 2:00: 90 minutes after Maghrib/120 minutes (during Ramadan ony) 9. When the ISHA setting is the way you want, press. This wi dispay the [ASR] setting E Use and to seect ASR1 (STANAR) or ASR2 (HANAFI) for the [ASR] setting. Pressing and at the same time whie the setting screen is dispayed wi return the prayer time cacuation method to its initia defaut settings, except for the Hijri date offset. After that, you can configure settings from step 4 of this procedure. For information about initia defaut settings, see the ata Tabe at the back of this manua. E-43 Time Precautions When you move from one region to another, be sure that you correcty configure Timekeeping Mode settings (city code, prayer time cacuation method, and current time) for the region you are moving into. Remember that if you fai to configure these settings correcty, prayer times cannot be cacuated and dispayed propery. E-44 Word Time Word Time Map Word Time code Home time Word Time shows the current time in 70 cities (31 time zones) around the word. You can aso configure three additiona cities (T-1, T-2, T-3), if you want. A of the operations in this section are performed in the Word Time Mode, which you enter by pressing (page E-11). To view the time for another city code In the Word Time Mode, press to scro eastwardy through city codes. For fu information about city codes, see the ata Tabe at the back of this manua. If the current time for a city is wrong, check your Timekeeping Mode time and time zone settings and urrent Word make the necessary changes. Time time E-45 To togge a city code time between Standard Time and ayight Saving Time 1. In the Word Time Mode, use (east) to dispay the city code (time zone) whose Standard Time/ayight Saving Time setting you want to change. 2. Hod down A for about two seconds to togge ayight Saving Time (ST dispayed) and Standard Time (ST not dispayed). The ST indicator is on the dispay whenever you dispay a city code for which ayight Saving Time is in effect. ST indicator Note that the ST/Standard Time setting affects ony the currenty dispayed city code. Other city codes are not affected. E-46 Using the Aarm urrent time Aarm enabed indicator Aarm time (Hour : Minutes) or SIG Aarm number Your watch has a tota of five aarms, each of which you can configure as a daiy aarm or one-time aarm. aiy Aarm: Sounds at the preset time each day. One-time Aarm: Sounds once at the preset time and then is disabed automaticay. You can aso enabe an Houry Time Signa that causes the watch to beep every hour on the hour. A of the operations in this section are performed in the Aarm Mode, which you enter by pressing (page E-11). Aarms operate in coordination with the current Home Time. E-47 To set an aarm time E In the Aarm Mode, use to scro through the aarm screens unti the aarm number you want to set is dispayed SIG Hod down A unti the fashing Hod SET indicator disappears from the dispay and the aarm time hour digits start to fash, which indicates the setting Reease A after the digits start to fash. This operation enabes the One-time Aarm automaticay. If you want to use the aiy Aarm, refer to To enabe or disabe a timekeeping aarm (page E-50) after performing step Press to move the fashing between the hour and minute settings. The seected digits are those that are fashing. 4. Whie a setting is fashing, use (+) and ( ) to change it. When setting the aarm time using the 12-hour format, take care to set the time correcty as a.m. (no indicator) or p.m. (P indicator). 5. Press A to exit the setting Aarm Operation The aarm tone sounds at the preset time for 10 seconds, regardess of the mode the watch is in. Aarm and Houry Time Signa operations are performed in accordance with the Timekeeping Mode time. To stop the aarm tone after it starts to sound, press any button. To test the aarm In the Aarm Mode, hod down to sound the aarm. E-49

The Houry Time Signa enabed indicator is shown on the dispay in a modes whie the Houry Time Signa is enabed. Aarm isabed aiy Aarm Enabed One-Time Aarm Enabed In a modes, the aarm enabed indicator is shown for the aarm that is currenty enabed. The aarm enabed indicator fashes whie the aarm is sounding. E-50 E-51 Using the Stopwatch Minutes Seconds E-52 urrent time 1/100 second Hours The stopwatch ets you measure eapsed time, spit times, and two finishes. The dispay range of the stopwatch is 23 hours, 59 minutes, seconds. The stopwatch continues to run, restarting from zero after it reaches its imit, unti you stop it. The stopwatch measurement operation continues even if you exit the Stopwatch Mode. Exiting the Stopwatch Mode whie a spit time is frozen on the dispay cears the spit time and returns to eapsed time measurement. A of the operations in this section are performed in the Stopwatch Mode, which you enter by pressing (page E-11). When the end of the countdown is reached, the aarm sounds for ten seconds or unti you stop it by pressing any button. The countdown time is reset to its starting vaue automaticay when the aarm sounds. Press whie a countdown operation is in progress to pause it. Press again to resume the countdown. To stop a countdown operation competey, first pause it (by pressing ), and then press A. This returns the countdown time to its starting vaue. E-56 Iumination An LE (ight-emitting diode) iuminates the dispay for easy reading in the dark. To iuminate the dispay In any mode (except when a setting screen is on the dispay), press to iuminate the dispay. When you press, the dispay wi be iuminated for about 1.5 seconds or 3 seconds, depending on the current iumination duration setting. Perform the procedure under onfiguring urrent Time and ate Settings (page E-22) to change the iumination duration. Iumination Precautions Iumination may be hard to see when viewed under direct sunight. Iumination turns off automaticay whenever an aarm sounds. Frequent use of iumination runs down the battery. E-57 utton Operation Tone The button operation tone sounds any time you press one of the watch s buttons. You can enabe or disabe the button operation tone as desired. Even if you disabe the button operation tone, the aarm, Houry Time Signa, and ountdown Timer Mode aarm a operate normay. aarm wi sound even if the button operation tone is disabed.
