1 October 31 WEEKLY CHARGER OHS Art Students Continue to Excel The BRACES Art Competition hosted by Briarcrest Christian School was held last week. Four art students placed in the competition this year increasing its total from last year MHSAA STATE CHAMPIONS Mary Gough - 1st place division winner Ruth Hogue - 3rd place Sidney Telford - 4th place Gillian Meyers - Honorable Mention Cadet Sergeant Bradley Hatcher was selected to attend the American Veterans (AMVETS) Spirit of America Youth Leadership Conference being held at Freedoms Foundation, Valley Forge Pennsylvania. Sergeant Hatcher will be representing Oxford High School, the Marine Corps JROTC program, and the state of Mississippi at the four day conference. Bradley and the other students will engage in a variety of leadership workshops to include: Rights and Responsibilities of a citizen leader, Communication and Teamwork, and Personalities of a Leader. This is an exceptional opportunity for Sergeant Hatcher to learn from experts from national universities in the fields of government, constitutional law and American History. 1
