1 Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program Funding Summary-- Meeting 1 September 16, 2009 TRUCKS, CHASSIS AND SLIP-ON UNITS THE GRANT APPROVALS MADE AT TODAY S FUNDING MEETING ARE PRELIMINARY IN NATURE AND ARE NOT FINAL. THEY ARE CONTINGENT UPON A FINAL-STAGE AUDIT WHICH IS CONDUCTED OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL BUSINESS DAYS. THE FINAL STAGE AUDIT RE-EXAMINES EACH APPLICATION FOR ELIGIBILITY, ERRORS, DUPLICATION, AND COMPLIANCE WITH GRANT PROGRAM GUIDELINES. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT A GRANT APPROVED IN COMMITTEE TODAY MAY BE WITHDRAWN IF AN ERROR OR DISQUALIFYING CONDITION IS DISCOVERED DURING THE AUDIT. FOLLOWING THE FINAL-STAGE AUDIT, AN APPROVAL LETTER WILL BE SENT TO EACH GRANT RECIPIENT. THIS LETTER IS OUR OFFICIAL VERIFICATION THAT A GRANT HAS BEEN APPROVED.
