More details will be given after the registration of the participants and the acceptance of the papers (after April 30 th, 2012). Accommodation There are various accommodation opportunities in Brad. Accommodation will be provided, at request, by the Organising Committee, at the «Avram Iancu» National High School Boarding House, in the students dormitories. Another opportunity for accommodation is offer by the pensions in the city. The presentation rooms will have video-projector (for PowerPoint presentations). The posters should not exceed A0 standard format (841 mm width, 1189 mm height). The official languages of the sessions will be Romanian and English.

4 Papers Publication The papers presented at the Symposium will be published in a special issue of the Romanian Journal of Mineral Deposits edited by the Geological Institute of Romania in Bucharest. This journal is also the official bulletin of the Society of Economic Geology of Romania (SEGR). The abstracts will be written in English and will not exceed 4 pages (in certain cases 6 pag. will be accepted, only with the approval of the Scientific Committee), A4 paper, including figures, diagrams, tables and references. For high resolution black/white photos a tax of 7 Euro/page has to be paid. For colour photos, figures and diagrams a tax of 25 Euro/page has to be paid. For details please refer to the Instructions for authors. The deadline for the abstracts submitting is February 29 th, Please the abstract or mail a CD and 2 hard copies to the contact address. The abstracts will be revised by the Scientific committee and the authors will be notified on the acceptance until April 15 th, Post-conferrence field trips September 8 th, 2012 Rovina-Bucuresci-Colnic Economic Geology Field Trip. 7 Instructions for Authors: The papers should not exceed 4 single spaced A4 typed pages, tables and figures included. In special cases, longer manuscripts (not exceeding 6 single spaced A4 typed pages) can be accepted with the approval of the Scientific Committee. All manuscripts must be written in English. Submission of manuscripts: Manuscripts submission by is strongly encouraged. Microsoft Word format is preferred. In the case of manuscripts submitted in printed format, two printed copies should be sent to the editorial board, including the reproduction-ready original figures (line drawings, tables and photographic prints). Manuscripts should be typed single space and in Times New Roman 11 font size. Margins: 2.5 cm left margin, 2 cm for top, bottom and right margins. All pages should be properly numbered. Manuscript organisation: Manuscripts should comprise: papers title, author(s) name, affiliation(s), abstract, keywords, main body of text, references, figures with figure captions and tables. Figures will be sent also as separate files in tiff, bmp, pdf or jpeg format. The title of the paper must be concise but informative. (Bold, all caps) Leave one empty row and give the full name(s) of the author(s), with the family name written in capitals; the name of the corresponding author will be marked with an asterisk. Follows the affiliation(s) and address(es) for each author or group of authors (full postal address, including the country name, and, if available, the address of each author). For the corresponding author please give address(es), telephone and fax numbers (with country and area codes). The Abstract has to summarize the main results and conclusions of the work in a straightforward manner. The description of the activities and topics of the research (e.g. "composition of... was investigated"; "significance of... was discussed etc) should be avoided. The use of references and abbreviations in the Abstract is not recommended. The abstract should be written with Times New Roman 10 font size. Keywords: Maximum 10 keywords for indexing purposes will be written after the Abstract, as well with Times New Roman 10 font size. Main body of text: The following structure of the text is recommended: Introduction, Regional setting, Geology of the study area, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgements. The hierarchy of headings should be indicated by decimal classification (1; 1.1; 1.1.1) and should not exceed four levels. Abbreviations must be defined at first mention in the main body of text and used consistently thereafter. Footnotes should be numbered consecutively and kept to a minimum. The Introduction needs to explain the significance of the topics approached in the manuscript and state the aims of the research. The new methods used in the study must be described in sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods already published will be indicated by references. Sample locations in the field will be indicated on a map or in a table (by geographic coordinates). In the text, the authors must make a clear distinction: a) between the previous research and their contribution in the submitted manuscript; b) between the results, observations and facts in general, on the one hand, and the interpretations and inferences made by the authors, on the other hand. References A. References should be cited in the text in the following form: - for one author: Ionescu (1970) or (Ionescu, 1970); - for two authors: Ionescu and Popescu (1970) or (Ionescu and Popescu, 1970); - for more than two authors: Ionescu et al. (1970) or (Ionescu et al., 1970); - for unpublished data or reports: Popescu et al. (1989, unpubl.) or (Popescu et al., 1989, unpubl.); - citation of unfinished research: Arapu et al. (research in progress) or (Arapu et al., research in progress); Personal communications (e.g. E. Georgescu, 2009, pers. comm.) should be authorized in writing by the person concerned.

8 B. All references cited in the text will be listed after the main body of text. The references list must not contain publications not cited in the text. The names of journals should be spelled out in full. In case of articles not published in English, the title will be translated in English, with the indication of the original language, in brackets, after the title. References should be listed in alphabetical order, after the family name of the first author, and in chronological order, in the case of more articles with the same family name of the first author, in the following sequence: 1. First, publications of the single author, in chronological order; references with the same author and the same year of publication will be distinguished by letters, corresponding with the order of their citation in the text; 2. then, publications with the author and one co-author, ordered by the family name of the co-author and year of publication; 3. then, publications with the author and more co-authors, ordered by the year of publication. Figure captions should comprise a brief title and the explanation of the significance and of the symbols and abbreviations used. Tables must be numbered consecutively, in the order of their mention in the text. Tables must be provided with explanatory captions. All abbreviations used in the tables must be explained either in the Table caption or in footnotes. No vertical lines will be used in tables. If the tables contain rock analyses, make sure that sample location and rock type are mentioned explicitly either in the same table or in other section of the manuscript. In the latter case, the location of the information must be indicated in the table caption. Figures. Photographs, line drawings and maps will be referred to in the text as figures. Figures must be numbered consecutively, in the order of their mention in the text. Figures will be submitted also as separate files or on separate sheets (in the case of hard copy submissions), ready for reproduction. Lettering and symbols on figures should be large enough to be easily read after size reduction. Graphic scales must be used for the figures. The position of each figure has to be indicated in the text. For easier handling, the figures submitted with the manuscripts for reviewing will be at small resolution. The revised manuscripts will be accompanied by figures at high resolution. Figures will be printed in normal grayscale free of charge. For high resolution black/white photos a tax of 7 Euro has to be paid. The authors will contribute with 25 Euro for each page containing coloured figures. In the online versions of articles, coloured figures are accepted free of charge. Nomenclature and units The names of minerals and rocks have to follow the most recent recommendations issued by IMA and IUGS. All unit measures for length, distance, weight, volume etc will be expressed in metric system.
