Khan, Lecturer (SG) would supervise Mr. Abu Mustafa Khan vice Mr. Sadaf Zaidi, Reader who has proceeded on Study Leave to pursue his Ph.D. from AMU. Item 3. Distributed the Teaching Load of B.Tech. Chemical Engineering and M.Tech. (Chemical Engineering) for the academic session (Annexure I). The Chairman was authorized to make minor necessary changes in the Teaching load distribution as and when required. Item 4. Allotted Supervisors of Dissertation to the M.Tech. Chemical Engineering (Process Modeling & Simulation) Second Semester, batch students (Annexure II). The Chairman is authorized to make necessary changes when required. Item 5. The Annual Report of the Department of Chemical Engineering for the period from was tabled and discussed (Annexure III). The Chairman is authorized to send the Annual Report to the University in the proforma as provided by the Registrar s Office. Item 6. Appointed external Examiners for M.Tech. Chemical Engineering (Process Modeling & Simulation) Dissertation for the batch students (Annexure IV Confidential not for circulation). The Chairman is authorized to make necessary changes when required. Item 7. Recommended the name of the following External Expert, who is not in the Service of the University, as Coopted member of the Board of Studies of the Department of Chemical Engineering for a period of two years which had fallen vacant due to the expiry of the term of Prof. Gh.A. Wani (J & K).

Chemical Engineering (Process Modeling & Simulation) in the year 2000 (00 KEM 1208, AA 9550). He completed the first two semesters of the programme successfully in the stipulated time (with 67.7 and 72.6% marks in the I & II Semester), and was promoted to the third semester in The third Semester is devoted entirely to dissertation work. Meanwhile, he was offered a job in Moody International, Doha, Qatar, and forced by some family obligation, he went to join the company sometimes in June 2001, leaving his M.Tech. incomplete. Mr. Uzer Alam is now seeking permission to continue his admission in M.Tech. (Chemical Engineering) 3 rd Semester and complete his dissertation work. As per Clause 4, Chapter XXXVI-D of the Ordinance (Academic), An M.Tech. student is allowed to complete the programme within a maximum of 5 years. The application of Mr. Uzer Alam seeking permission to start Dissertation work after 10 years of admission was tabled for discussion and was rejected. Brief Introduction: The Department of Chemical Engineering was established in 1978 during Vth Five Year Plan with the sanction of the University Grant Commission (U.G.C). The first batch of Chemical Engineering graduates passed out in All the basic the infrastructure in the Department has been developed with indigenous facilities and capabilities. Most of the experimental setup in the laboratories have been designed and fabricated within the Department. From the very beginning the department has emphasized the strengthening of quality teaching and laboratory training, and develop computational skill of the UG/PG students. Right from its inception, the Department s major thrust has been maintaining a high standard of teaching and imparting quality professional training to enable the students to compete in national and international job market. Our graduates are serving in different premier organizations and R & D institutions like, ONGC, BARC, DRDO, EIL, L & T, IFFCO, IOC etc. and many other public and private sector companies.
