This position is available for the duration of six months in the area of biomaterials research. This research project is funded by Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus/OH. The study will focus on the synthesis and characterization of magnetic nanoparticles for the pretreatment of cellulose and lignocellulosic biomass. Candidates must have previous experience in the synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles or nanostructures and in the isolation and characterization of biomaterials. We are seeking candidates who are self-motivated and career-oriented. 4 The Korea Institute of Science and Technology Europe is an international research institute located on campus of the University of Saarland and is active in science and engineering projects in the field of biomedical analysis and clinical diagnostics. To strengthen our team we are searching for a Research Group Leader for Instrument Manufacturing and Clinical Diagnostics Depending on qualifications, this is combined with a Honorary Professorship at the University of Saarland in the department of Mechatronics. The aim of the research work is to develop novel scientific measurement methods and instruments using nanotechnology, biotechnology or microfluidics. These methods and instruments should be of relevance to the fields of clinical diagnostics or chemical analysis.
