2 Job Experience: Presently working as Asst. Professor at Department of Materials Science, Sardar Patel University, Gujarat. Worked as Sector Specialist-Nanotechnology at GUJCOST, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, Gujarat during the year Worked as Research Scientist (R & D-ADL Division) at Zydus Cadila Healthcare Ltd., Gujarat during the year Worked as Project Manager at Gujarat Council on Science & Technology (GUJCOST), Department of Science and Technology, Gandhinagar, Gujarat in the year Worked as Research Associate at Centre of Excellence in Nanoscience and Nanomaterials Department of Materials Science, Sardar Patel University, India during the year Worked as Project Fellow at Centre of Excellence in Nanoscience and Nanomaterials Department of Materials Science, Sardar Patel University, India during the year Summary of work experience/achievements: The prime aim of my research work has been to develop carbon nanomaterials through CVD route and to study the catalyst /substrate behaviour. The Chemical vapour deposition method was used for the development of carbon nanofibers, nanospheres and carbon nanotubes on different substrate sites. The carbon nanomaterials developed have a different structural morphology and dimensions. The research work was also carried out to develop aligned as well as bamboo shaped carbon nanotubes from various carbonaceous precursors using chemical vapour deposition methods and various phenomena connected with pyrolysis of carbonaceous precursors, growth behaviour and thermal stability were studied. These results show that developed aligned carbon nanotubes have higher length from 50 to 1200 µm and nm diameter. Carbon nanotubes developed on flat, powder, metallic and fibrous substrates formed brush of carbon nanotubes as well. These have wide application both for electronics components as well as composite fillers for polymer based composites. During research work, new concepts were developed like nanomaterials from polymers, nanomaterials on inorganic and fibrous substrates. These studies also from a part of Research Fellowship Program under the GUJCOST sponsored research project entitled Centre of Excellence in Nanoscience and Nanomaterials of Prof.L.M.Manocha, Dept. of Materials Science, Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat, INDIA. Achievements in R & D field: (1) Carbon nanofibers (2) Carbon nanotubes on Ceramic substrates Metallic substrates 2 of 6
