3 Radiopharmaceuticals Research Program Production of PET Radioisotopes Production of SPECT Radioisotopes via cyclotron Production and post-processing of positron/gamma/beta emitters radioisotopes (short lived) via cyclotron. The medical radionuclides are especially envisaged. PET: F-18, C-11, N-13, O-15, I-124 for imaging; Cu-64 for imaging and therapy SPECT: Tc-99m, I-123 for imaging

4 Radiopharmaceuticals Research Program Developing of new radiopharmaceuticals for molecular imaging GMP Production of radiopharmaceuticals for clinical testing Potential radiopharmaceuticals for imaging and targeted therapy of cancer are preclinically evaluated. Molecules with specific biological activity and preferential tumor uptake, involved in pathological mechanisms, such as antibodies, peptides and hormones were radiolabelled with gamma/positrons/ beta emitters. At the GMP production site the successful agents will be prepared according to pharmacological safety requirements for human use and clinically tested.

5 Radiopharmaceuticals Research Program Pharmacological development using C-11 and PET imaging Developing hybrid imaging technology Molecular imaging is expected to play an increasingly important role in drug discovery and development. Positron Emission Tomography (PET), as a non-invasive imaging technique that provides quantitative information about a drug target s distribution, its interaction with drug molecules and changes over time and upon therapeutic intervention, has been increasingly recognized as a powerful imaging modality that provides a specific and sensitive biomarker for drug development.
