Thermal Basin Studies Temperature studies are an important tool in assessing maturation, hydrocarbon generation and geothermal potential In addition, sometimes they can be useful in determining over pressure While there are published geothermal gradient maps for some basins, regional studies with the data deliverable in user friendly formats for software actually in current use by industry and sampling on a consistent detailed grid are rare to non existent Structure, hydrocarbon and pressure cause perturbations of the geothermal gradient Because of this, Innovative Geo Tech Resources LLC and Laramide Geosciences LLC have teamed up and are offering the opportunity for companies to license these thermal basin studies

Current Studies DJ Basin Phase 1 We estimate that there are ~ 800 data points in the DJ Basin Phase 1 study area as outlined We are picking the BHT, circulation times, and formation at BHT from the log data for all runs for all wells, calculating gradients and integrating temperatures from the DST data We will integrate public domain temperature data from geothermal and other heat flow studies where available and integrate other public domain data such as surface geology, basement structure where available, etc The pre-sale cost of the DJ Basin Phase 1 study is $7,000 + sales tax This price is valid until April 30, 2010 at which time the study cost will increase Pre-sale price will be reserved upon receipt of the offer letter signature page and 50% as a deposit of the pre-sale price The final payment will be due upon delivery of the project The anticipated completion date for the project is around the first week in June

Current Studies North-Middle Park Basin

Basin Thermal Studies Deliverables Database items: Raw BHTs and correction data collected from log headers for each run for all selected wells with available data Corrected BHT values Temperatures, pressures, recoveries from DST data collected Geothermal Gradient/Heat Flow Values (public domain) Vitrinite/Rock Eval values (public domain) Thermal springs data (public domain) Geothermal gradient calculated from log/dst values collected, calculated for 1 to 3 formations or time intervals Petra Layers and or Shapefiles: Study Outline County Outlines State Outlines Landgrid Roads Cities Hydrology Surface Geology Basement Geology Surface Temperature Additional data DST data collected from public domain delivered as PDF files Select maps of database items Report Currently the data delivered with the studies are being provided to be compatible with Petra Other software formats (ArcView, GGX, SMT, etc) are possible and will need to be discussed further

BHT Temperature Correction Methods Integration of static temperature measurements with DST and recorded log temperatures AAPG Circulation Time Correction chart, 1994, mostly Gulf Coast Lachenbruch & Brewer, 1959, Horner Plot method

Initial Plots of Uncorrected Temperatures Uncorrected log header bottom hole temperature vs. subsea depth, coded by formation Initial plot of drill stem test (DST) temperature vs. subsea depth, coded by formation DST data will be integrated into the log temperatures to refine the thermal gradients DST data were collected from public domain sources and copies will be included in the final report

3D Visualizer from North Middle Park Basin Study The 150 F thermograd surface is displayed above basement geology and beneath the Digital Elevation Landshade The yellow disc at each wellbore denotes the top of the Mowry shale
