ZentralAsiatisches Institut für Angewandte Geowissenschaften R&D programme 2008 2009, coordinated on the initiative of GFZ Central Asian Global Change Observatory, GCO. Main objectives: Climate and Water Geodynamics and Geo hazards Monitoring systems and capacity building 7 projects: 1. Preparatory geological and geophysical research of the Sarydjaz river basin as the region for future construction of a hydroelectric power system 2. Preparation of infrastructure for landslide phenomena research using remote sensing and ground observation methods (in a pilot area of mountain ridge of the Fergana basin, inner Tien Shan) 3. Seismic micro zonation of Bishkek city territory 4. Studying and monitoring of the Inylchek glacier with the goal of defining the glacier balance, its morphological and dynamic characteristics and its climatologic and hydrological conditions 5. Study of runoff regularities in southern Kyrgyzstan in connection with climate change for assessing the intensity of erosiveprocessesand precipitation transfer into the basin of the Toktogul basin 6. Geo Data Base of Central Asia 7. Assembly of a monitoring system for dangerous phenomena in a quasi real time mode

CAIAG GPS/GNSS Network small triangles are campaign-mode sites, not permanent; e.g. in coop. Earthquake Administration of Xinjiang (EAX), (Xinjiang Seismological Bureau), Right triangles are CAIAG stations (pink color - GNSS only, yellow - smart (seismo, meteo and GNSS), blue - BIS2 station on CAIAG roof which is controlled by GFZ and works in quasi real time. Green back triangles are Tajik stations. Red squares are RS RAS (IVTAN) stations.
