6 Case Studies: We know the Value of Solar Lights: On the dated 11 th Oct 2014 Saturday a super savior cyclone starts effect our village Kalingapatnam, before that BREDS/ IGSSS team conducted orientation program regarding preparation of shifting to rehabilitation center of Kusumpuram. At the time the suggested how could be we prepare and what assets to be taken to the Rehabilitation center. At that time they advised to keep charging solar lamps fully and take in to rehabilitation centers. In my village we take the 20+ lights to Rehabilitation center. After starting cyclone effect electricity department will disconnects the electricity s. Till the moment we could not under stands what was the actual value of these lamps. When evening passed out night enters, flow of rain and air also increased at the time for lighting of our centers there was only source that s solar lamps because there was no chances to lighting with candles in the speed of more than 100KM PH speed air and continues rain, wheremanychildren s and Pregnancywomen s are kept in the center, if we don t have these lights means it was very difficult to organize minimum arrangements. Really it s give new hopes and helps to lighting our shelters these 2 days. K. Balaya The lessons help to fill my children s stomachs : Before HudHudTufan affects our village VAT committee members advised to me we need to shift Borivanka rehabilitation center so that time I need to prepare all my valuable things along with medicines and Dry foods because I have 2 children s and now I am pregnant. So that they advised me keep with me all necessary things and dry foods like biscuits and others. As their instruction I was buy some biscuits and Ground nut sweets and kept with me rehabilitation shelter which helps to me at the time of HudHud very much because at the rehabilitations shelters behalf of government arranged foods but which is not in a disciplinary manure during the times these dry foods not fill children s hungriness its full fill my basic needs as per my conditions. Thanking you me suggest. Neelamma Conclusions during assessment with community: HudHud cyclone where effected the village it s not only effects only peoples Assets its highly effected peoples livelihood because whereas 10 no of peoples loosed their houses completely 4 no of HHs partially loosed their houses and more than 100 HHs effected with slightly damages and more than 50 no of Live stocks (chickens) loosed by the community

7 and no of days effected from fish findings which is their major livelihood same time raised different health and sanitation issues in villages. Same time continues electricity cut off highly effected to villagers and majorly create drinking water problems. Due to loses of property and stocked food items, and un sustain income now forced to community depending on Money landers whereas mean time people facing challenging to buy their daily needs/ groceries/ Vegetables in double cost which was another big threat for a community members.
