Sue Naplachowski gave a very informative presentation on inclement weather (hurricanes, tornadoes, etc) preparedness at the August Board meeting.

I've also included a map of the Park, with highlighted areas to show where parking of bike trailers will be allowed for Bike Week. These areas are in addition to the regular overflow lot parking.

1 September 2016 $ PRICELESS The Second Season Begins PROPERTY MANAGER Well, another summer season is in the books. But there's still a lot going on in September. The crab feast, the biker big breakfast and of course a Board meeting. All the information is in this newsletter. Sue Naplachowski gave a very informative presentation on inclement weather (hurricanes, tornadoes, etc) preparedness at the August Board meeting. She also gave us a handout with some information on what to pack if you have to evacuate. I've included a copy of the brochure in this newsletter. I've also included a map of the Park, with highlighted areas to show where parking of bike trailers will be allowed for Bike Week. These areas are in addition to the regular overflow lot parking. Be sure to get your trailer permit from the guard or office when you check in. I want to thank all of the residents and homeowners who have told me that they are glad that I am back. Ted Gajewski Inclement Weather in White Horse Park June/July/Aug is favorable for thunder storms while Sept/Oct/Nov brings Hurricanes and the winter months bring Nor easters to White Horse Park. White Horse Park wants all personnel to be safe during inclement weather, therefore we will review our plan. WHP policy is to open the bath houses for your safety. The bath houses are not rated tornado or hurricane proof, but they may offer more shelter than your mobile home. The bath house on Skip Jack Circle and the bath house on Sea Hawk Lane will be opened during severe inclement weather. All are welcome to shelter there along with your pets during severe weather. Remember, they are not tornado or hurricane proof. (At no other time are pets allowed in the bath houses). Our Guards have an Emergency Weather Radio in the guard house. They can track the storm on the map they have. A guard will not notify anyone that a storm is coming. Everyone in the park is responsible for themselves before and during a storm. It is up to the individuals of WHP to look towards the sky and listen to the radio or TV when severe storms are approaching. The guards will make sure the bath houses are open and survey the park after the storm. If necessary the guard will contact the park manager. Hurricanes can be dangerous, especially for WHP. When a hurricane watch is issued, the Park Manager will monitor the situation and report to the President of the BOD. A meeting will be held at the clubhouse to give emergency directions to the people of WHP if deemed necessary. A weather radio can be purchased at Walmart, or Radio Shack. The radio will only alert when severe weather is in our area or other areas as you program it. Radio Stations to listen to during severe weather or emergencies are: 99.5 Ocean City WBOC, Salisbury 92.7 Rehoboth, Beach DE TV Channels 06 WBOC, Salisbury WBOC, Salisbury WBOC, Salisbury 806 WBOC, Salisbury

MARINA NEWS All is well at the marina. We ve had a very hot and happy season! Both Fish Frys were well attended and everyone had a very good time.

Just a reminder to boat slip holders that you are not allowed to lend or lease your slip to anyone.

The building of a second kayak rack will start soon, now that the heat wave is over.

C. NEWS The E.C.C. Committee has been doing inspections of properties since May.

Areas of concern are marked on the check list and need attention. The fines increase each month. First Violation is $25.00, second Violation is $50.00 and so on.

All of the proceeds go to the marina so we thank you for your patronage. Just a reminder to boat slip holders that you are not allowed to lend or lease your slip to anyone. Family members are not excused, only the boat registered to the slip holder is allowed in the boat slip. The building of a second kayak rack will start soon, now that the heat wave is over. 4 Activity at the Park has slowed down considerably. The weather is cooling off which is a good thing considering how hot it has been this summer. We have two more events at the clubhouse for this season, the Crab Feast on September 3rd and the Biker Breakfast on September 18th. Soon we will be able to concentrate on the projects that we have not been able to address during the season. We have had some issues with electric and water that have been handled by our crew which has saved the Park money. We are glad that our own crew are able to handle some of these repairs. We can thank John Garner for helping with electrical repairs. If you have noticed the new and improved signs around the Park we can thank Nelson Grimes a new resident in the Park for making the signs at no cost to the Park. I think he will continue to redo signs until they are all redone since he didn't like the way the old ones looked. Thanks to Larry Hanley for all his help with projects around the Park, he is always ready to help. Thanks to Norm Ross, Phil Wood, and their helpers for building the kayak rack which has been a hit with owners. It is so much easier for owners with kayaks and canoes to store their units close to the water. Thanks to all the volunteers who work hard to put on the events at the clubhouse, we would not be able to have the events without them. We would like to thank Karen Boon for being the cashier/ticket taker for the ice cream socials and club house events. I hope more owners will be able to attend the events, it is a great opportunity to get to know other owners, especially since we have so many new owners. One of which is JoAnn Topolski who jumped right into helping out with club house events. We appreciate her being a club house volunteer as well as Linda & John Underwood, Myra & Barry Ebaugh and Lois & Will Lauer who for many years have helped with all of the club house events. We d also like to thank Marge & Ed Webb & Sue Naplachowski who did the Fish Frys and to ALL of the Board Members who donated their time and hard work to make Club House their time & energy to making the events possible. And, to make these events known to all in the park, we thank Maria Castellano who has been taking care of putting the events on our signs by the entrance and the clubhouse as well as being a club house volunteer. We will have two more Board Meetings this year, September 17th and October 15th. We look forward to seeing you. Please put your lot # on all checks for payments on your account. Please do not approach the grass cutters with your mowing concerns. Instead, contact Ted, Janice or Rebecca at the office. We will handle your concerns as quickly as possible. If you are interested in going paper-less, please contact the office to have this newsletter and electric bills ed to you. It will save WHP money and is a convenient way for you to receive these.
