Tackle the list in one day or better yet, work on the tasks as you can throughout the month. Of course if your climate isn t ready for full-on spring cleaning, start now and save the window washing for April or May. SPRING CLEANING CADDY Before you think about spring cleaning, grab a caddy and put together your favorite tools. Keep everything in an easy to grab spot and when you feel like doing a little spring cleaning, grab your caddy and get started. A couple of my favorites? Microfiber cloths, bar mop cloths, lint roller, all-purpose and window/mirror cleaner, scrub, dish soap, grout and heavy duty scrub brushes, extendable reach duster, and of course the vacuum cleaner. WASH THOSE BASEBOARDS I love clean baseboards and they are definitely one of those quintessential spring cleaning tasks. Castile soap is the ultimate gentle, yet effective cleaning powerhouse. Bonus: it s free of dyes, artificial scents and chemicals. Find castile soap in the natural beauty aisle at many retailers or on Amazon. If you don t happen to have any on hand, you can also substitute your favorite dish soap - the kind you d use for hand washing dishes. This cleaner can be used on both painted and wood baseboards. 4 cups warm water 1 tablespoon castile or dish soap Mix ingredients together in a bucket. Using a barely damp microfiber cloth (my favorite!) or a well-wrung out sponge, wipe as you go, rinsing the cloth or sponge frequently. OLD-FASHIONED CLEANING My favorite cleaner for spring cleaning? Castile or dish soap and warm water. Spring cleaning is mostly just cleaning surfaces, dusting, and getting the grime from the winter cleaned up. Mix up 4 cups of warm water and 1 teaspoon - 1 tablespoon of castile or dish soap. Add 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oils if you d like a little perk up of scent. Stock up on bar mop towels (cotton cleaning cloths and have a scrub brush handy and you re all set).
