5 Purpose of PA 3 Establishment of a common, nationwide set of basic data for rivers Correlation between authorities streams data Building on existing streams data in FOT (INSPIRE theme) Why: Registration of geographical streams data is going on today without having any connection to other stream data in the state and municipality Several data are organized from various laws and administrative areas. Therefore: More efficient river administration The same data is maintained and purchased only one time, and at one place The efficacy and a cost-effective climate adaptation effort Greater legal certainty for citizens 5

6 Key deliveries 1. Municipalities and the Ministry of Environment establishes and manages jointly a nationwide joint public basic data for rivers 2. The basic data set for streams distributed via the data distributor 3. Suggestions for how existing legislation in the river administrations can be adjusted so basic data for rivers form the basis for effective management of water courses in all relevant areas 4. Proposal for a common public hydrological elevation model based on the basic data of streams. 6

15 The 3 types of rivers, 2 for lakes Type 1 Public streams that are subject to regulations. These are used in connection with. water management of public waters, nature and environmental management, management of buffer zones and climate change adaptation. Ca km. For lakes, a division of type 2 (WFD and protected) and 3 (other) Type 2 Streams that are: Managed by the WFD and described as watercourses covered by 2m buffer strips and called natural streams in relation to stream (which is largely overlap between the watercourses) 3 nature protected streams Ca km.
