3 (9) 1 General description GSD-Property Map in layered raster format can be used for presentation of the Property Map as a digital map image on a computer screen, for example as a cartographic background. The images can also be used for the production of value-added products and as input data for GIS. 1.1 Contents The contents and plotting of GSD-Property Map in layered raster format is, overall, the same as in GSD-Property Map in raster, with the exception of orthophoto, which is not included in this product. The product contains 10 layers, where each layer is a separate 8-bit image. No information is included in more than one layer. Text linked to certain features are found in the same layer as these features. Edge matching was done when the 8 bits images were produced Administrative divisions This layer contains all administrative boundaries and symbols, including administrative names and ID numbers Built-up areas and facilities This layer contains houses, churches, ruins, piers, quay, dolphin, pile fendering, jetties, dams, lock gates, construction areas, cemeteries, sports fields, (airport) runways, reindeer fields, aerial cableways, mineshaft areas, mineshafts and settlement remains. Building symbols such as railway stations, masts, chimneys, bell towers, wind power turbines/farms, cots, towers, wind shelters, windmills and light houses are also included in this layer.
4 (9) Provisions This layer contains provisions for nature preservation and culture conservation, military areas and ancient monuments and sites. These are cultural-historical monuments, cultural reserves, natural monument, wildlife sanctuaries, national parks, nature reserves, other reserves, ancient monuments, historic buildings, milestones, monuments, military areas and areas prohibited for terrain vehicles, both geometries and symbols. Text describing these provisions are also included in this layer Hydrography This layer includes water surfaces, water limiting lines and watercourses, as well as water symbols and water text Railways This layer contains railway and tramlines.
5 (9)
6 (9) Electricity power transmission lines and pipelines This layer contains electricity power transmission lines, pipelines and transformer station area Contours This layer contains contours with a few scarcely placed elevation values, pit contours but not mineshafts, as well as symbols for cuttings and pits Land area polygons This layer contains land areas, but not water areas, as well as limiting lines, but not water lines. Limits of cultivation are also included in this layer. No area polygons are white, so as not to be confused with areas where the water are removed.
7 (9) Text This layer contains all text except for administrative names and ID numbers, provision text, water text and contour text, which are included in other layers Roads This layer contains public and private roads, streets, cycle paths, tractor tracks, hiking trails and footpaths. It also contains underpasses, ferry routes, footbridges, as well as symbols for draw bridges, road barriers and turning areas. 1.2 Geographic coverage GSD-Property Map in layered raster format has the same coverage as the printed Property Map (see [at present only available in Swedish]) 1.3 Coordinate system The coordinate system for standard deliveries of the data is the Swedish national reference system SWEREF 99 TM. 2 Quality statement 2.1 Currency GSD-Property Map in layered raster format is produced from our database on demand. This database is regularly updated for buildings and division into property
8 (9) units. Other information is revised at varying intervals depending on feature type (see [at present only available in Swedish]). 2.2 Positional accuracy The geometric accuracy of the raster images is the same as that of the printed maps, which is approximately 2 metres for well-defined features. This level of accuracy does not apply to some of the other features. The raster image for a 5x5 km quad is x pixels in size, which means that the resolution of the digital map images is 1 metre on the ground and 100 mm at the map scale of 1: Contents of the delivery GSD-Property Map in layered raster format is produced on demand. Delivery can be made either in 5x5 km quad in accordance with the Swedish national reference system SWEREF 99 TM or as a optional area defined by coordinates (max. 225 sqkm). 3.1 Delivery format The standard delivery format for GSD Property Map s raster images is TIFF format with LZW compression. The file size for a 5x5 km raster image is approximately 20 Mb (for LZW-compressed TIFF data). 3.2 Sets of files The file name for a 5x5 km quad is made up of three parts. First comes the prefix f (Property Map). This is followed by the quad designation, based on the index system. The final part consists of the layer s abbreviated name, which is listed below in the table for recommended plotting sequence. For optional coordinate-defined tiles a different designation is used instead of the designation based on the standard quads. The following files are included in deliveries and also serve as examples of how naming is done. f673_46_01_vag.tif f673_46_01_vag.tfw f673_46_01_vag.tab f673_46_01_vag.ini tif indicates image in TIFF format Coordinate information for ArcInfo and ArcView Coordinate information for MapInfo Coordinate information for AutoKa PC
9 (9) 4 Layout and plotting of data 4.1 On-screen presentation In cases where information is not available for the whole area the digital map image has been complemented with a background value for the remainder of the pixels. The background value in each image has pixel value=0 and white plotting=255. Apart from areas outside selected area, the background value also refers to areas with none information, for example land areas with removed water areas. The background value (pixel value=0) has to be set as transparent in the user application to make underlying layers visible. 4.2 Recommended plotting sequence If all layers are plotted simultaneously the following plotting sequence is recommended in the user application to make the merged image look like the combined raster image of the Property Map: txt kra adm bes beb jvg vag hkr hyd mrk Text Electricity transmission lines Administrative divisions Provisions Built-up areas and facilities Railways Roads Contours Hydrography Land area polygons
