3 P.1/ Objectives The purpose of these standards is, to clarify the chemical substances banned for use and the chemical substances under management in components, devices or materials constituting our products, and in addition, to clarify such chemical substances in production processes so as to keep suppliers informed about it. 2. Scope These standards apply to any chemical substances used in components, devices or materials constituting our products and their production processes. Auxiliary materials such as, oil, cleaning agent and felt pen, which are used in production processes and likely to attach to products are also covered by these standards. This standard also applies to any packaging materials used to pack our products and the instructions for use. Basically, these standards do not apply to packaging materials used when suppliers deliver their products to us. (However, we may request suppliers to provide the information on such packaging materials using the Survey Sheet, when necessary. In that case, we will individually notify suppliers.) These standards apply to OEM products (which are produced by other suppliers and we sells under own brand name). Inclusion or exclusion of OEM products depends on some conditions such as selling area. 3. Definitions The following definitions apply for these Standards. Intentional Use: "Intentional Use" means the case where a relevant chemical substance is used (added) to the product so as to add a certain performance to the product. Impurity: "Impurity" means any substances that is contained naturally and can not be removed industrially in the process of refining the industrial materials, or any substances that was produced in the process of synthetic reaction and can not be removed industrially. Containing: "Content / Containing" means the following three cases. (1) Irrespective of whether a chemical substance is used intentionally or not, it contained as a constituent of a component, device or material. (2) A chemical substance is contained in a component, device or material by adding it according to production conditions during production process so as to maintain the product quality. (3) A chemical substance remains or attaches to a final product, component, device or material by using it in the production process. The "containing" also includes cases wherein a chemical substance that is contained naturally is included, or wherein a impurity that can not be removed in the process of industrial refining is included. Applicable Use: "Applicable Use" means any applications which we require to ban or control for its use per the relevant chemical substance group. Thresholds (Standards Values): "Threshold" means the permissible limit of the amount of included chemical substances in homogeneous materials of the relevant application. Homogeneous materials: "Homogeneous materials" means a material that cannot be mechanically disjointed into different materials. "Mechanically disjointed" includes disassembly by mechanical actions such as cutting, crushing, shredding, grinding and abrasive processes. Applicable Laws and Regulations: "Applicable Laws and Regulations" means any laws and regulations which we referenced to when we consider chemical substances as "ban on use". included in the List of Banned for Use in Products [ Banned for Use in Products]: "The List of Banned for Use in Products" means list which lists any chemical substance which is considered "ban on use " under applicable laws and regulations in each country or Type I Environmental Label Criteria. Depending on the application of chemical substances on the list, it is banned on its "intentional use" or "presence exceeding the thresholds". The List of Banned for Use in Consumables [ Banned for Use in Consumables]: "The List of Banned for Use in Consumables" means list which lists any chemical substance which is considered "ban on use " under applicable laws and regulations in each country or Type I Environmental Label Criteria. The listed chemical substance ban apply to only consumables. It is banned on its "intentional use" or "presence exceeding the thresholds". The List of Banned for Use in Production Processes [ Banned for Use in Production Processes]: "The List of Banned for Use in Production Processes" means list which lists any chemical substance which is used in our supplier's production processes. If suppliers do not have the production processes and deliver the products they purchased from their suppliers to us, the chemical substances used in production processes of product source is covered by these Standards. The List of Chemical Substances Under Management (Applicable to Products), (Applicable to Consumables): "The List of Chemical Substances Under Management (Applicable to Products), (Applicable to Consumables)" means list which lists any chemical substances which in the future, may or could be considered "ban on use" under applicable laws and regulations in each country or Type I Environmental Label Criteria.

4 P.2/ 50 Detailed Reference List (Applicable to Products): "Detailed Reference List (Applicable to Products)" means list which lists the appropriate examples of chemical substances falling under each of "Chemical substance group" on the List of Banned for Use in Products [ Banned for Use in Products] and the List of Chemical Substances Under Management (Applicable to Products). It lists the exemplification substances, therefore, all chemical substances falling under "Chemical substance group" are not limited to those listed here. For "Specific organic tin compounds" and "Specific phthalate", it lists all of the chemical substances covered. It does not list the appropriate examples of chemical substances falling under each of "Chemical substance group" on the List of Banned for Use in Consumables [ Banned for Use in Consumables] and the List of Chemical Substances Under Management (Applicable to Consumables). Please refer to the remarks column. The List of Specific Amine: "The List of Specific Amine" means list which lists a total of twenty-two substances falling under "specific amine" of "Azo compounds that formulate specific amine "which is included in the List of Banned for Use in Products Detailed Reference List (Applicable to Production Processes): "Detailed Reference List (Applicable to Production Processes)" means list which lists the appropriate examples of chemical substances falling under each of "Chemical substance groups" on the List of Banned for Use in Production Processes [ Banned for Use in Production Processes] and the List of Chemical Substances Under Management (Applicable to Production Processes). It lists the exemplification substances, therefore, all of the chemical substances falling under "Chemical substance group" are not limited to those listed here. The List of Exempt Applications from our Standards: "The List of Exempt Applications from our standards" means list which lists the currently exempted applications from the RoHS Directive(2011/65/EC). The Exemplification List of Substances Covered by PFOS: "The Exemplification List of Substances Covered by PFOS" means list which lists ninety six substances covered by PFOS(Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid and its salt). SVHC: "SVHC" means Substances of Very High Concarn. As for these substances, the notification and the communication of information are requested according to the REACH regulation(ec No.1907/2006). Article: "Article" means an object which during production is given a special shape, surface or design which determines its function to a greater degree than does its chemical composition. Mixture: "Mixture" means a mixture or solution composed of two or more substances. EU Authorisation Substances: "EU Authorisation Substances" means Substances of Very High Concern (substances being listed in ANNEX XIV) which an application for authorisation is required according to the EU REACH Regulation (EC No.1907/2006). 4.
