1 Dear colleagues, dear guests, dear friends, It is among the major objectives of ENMIX to play a leading role in the field of nanoporous solids in Europe and to contribute, by using novel nanoporous materials, to the solution of the great challenges our modern society is faced with. In its entirety, our network disposes of far-reaching competences concerning the various families of nanoporous materials, i.e., carbon-based materials, zeolites, and metal-organic frameworks. Within ENMIX, there is not only ample know-how in the preparation of such materials, but altogether, the partner institutes are experienced in their characterization by a broad pool of characterization techniques (ENMIX Supertool). ENMIX is hence ideally trained and skilled to optimize nanoporous materials with respect to their functions in a process or product. The resulting high competence both in fundamental research on nanoporous materials and in their industrial application is generally considered as one of the important strengths of ENMIX. The forthcoming workshop in Hanover will be mainly directed towards intense discussions between representatives from industry and the ENMIX partners with the aims to further sharpen the profile and visibility of the network and to pave the way for research cooperations. Plenary lectures by leading European experts, oral presentations by renowned researchers from within the network, and posters about selected projects will serve as a platform for the discussions aimed at. 5 3th ENMIX workshop on March 25-27, 2013 in Hannover, Germany 1. Hannover Main Station: From Hannover Main Railway Station you walk about 15 minutes to the Hotel Maritim (2). From Hannover Airport you can take the S-Bahn (there is only one line) to Hannover Main Station. There are two trains per hour, leaving at.06 and.36 ( i.e. 8:06 and 8:36, 9:06 and 9:36)... The S-Bahn will need around 17 minutes. Ticket can be bought at a ticket machine on the platform, please validate the ticket (tickets are often controlled in the train!).
