EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Postdoctoral Research Worked in Center for Geo-environmental Science, Faculty of Engineering and Resource Science, Akita University, Japan in the field of Carbon materials. Research was basically focused in the Preparation, characterization of Fe rich carbon material using polyurethane foam material. Ph.D. Chemistry, Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Work carried out during Postdoctoral research in Akita University, Japan. Preparation of Iron rich carbon material using template synthesis method. Polyurethane foam was used as the base material for the synthesis process. Further characterization was carried out using instruments viz., FE-SEM, XRD, TGA etc. ( , Cont..) Research carried out in the field of high performance polymers and membranes. Synthesis and characterization of high performance polymers viz., polyimides, polyamides, poly(amide imide)s, poly(ester imide)s etc. and their characterization by various analytical tools i.e. TGA, DSC, DMA etc. at Bhavnagar, from Feb, 2000 to 2005 Worked as a Project entitled Preparation of polymeric membranes for bioseparation from October 2002 to September 2003 at Reverse Osmosis Division, CSMCRI, Bhavnagar, India. Worked in Silicate and Catalysis Division, handled instruments like Particle Size Distribution, Gelpermeation Chromatography, Sedigraph etc., to study the behaviour of particles under various conditions and their distribution pattern.(2001) 5. Attended a workshop on ISMAD-WS 2004 on Mass Spectrometry from 7-12 October, 2004 at Shimla. 3. Ultrafiltration of biopolymers using hydrophilic polysulfone membranes. Presented in the National seminar on Desalination & Membrane Technology held at Bhavnagar on February 17-26, Presented a seminar on Particle Size Distribution at CSMCRI, Bhavnagar on Feb, Presented a paper entitled Synthesis of poly(amide imide)s/ polyimides: Kinetic study of thermal and thermo-oxidative by TGA and DSC at CSMCRI, Bhavnagar. 9.
