1 STUDY GUIDE MASTER OF SCIENCE STRUCTURAL CHEMISTRY AND SPECTROSCOPY Zentrale Studienberatung

2 1. STUDY PROGRAMME: M.SC. STRUCTURAL CHEMISTRY AND SPECTROSCOPY 2. DEGREE AWARDED: Master of Science 3. STANDARD PERIOD OF STUDY: CREDIT POINTS: COMMENCEMENT OF STUDIES FOR NEW STUDENTS: 4 semester 120 ECTS winter/ summer term 4. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: For the master study course a BSc in chemistry or equivalent degree of a natural sciences or engineering study is required. The final decision is made by the board of examination in the course of the aptitude test. Subject-specific admission requirements: - English B2 ADMISSION RESTRICTION: Admission is depending on an aptitude test.* 5. PROGRAMME CONTENT: The international master degree in Structural Chemistry and Spectroscopy is consecutive and research-oriented. It introduces students to advanced spectroscopic methods and foci on the structure of chemical and biochemical compounds, especially biopolymers. Based on this increased understanding of structural aspects, the programme then concentrates on structural clarification and synthesis of defined complex structures. Courses are held in English. 6. PROGRAMME STRUCTURE : The master study course consists of obligatory modules (20 CP), choice obligatory modules (40 CP + 30 CP practical courses) and the master thesis (30 CP). Every module is timely limited and includes relevant types of lessons. The modules are finished by a module examination. 1 CP relates to 30 hours workload (presence, self-study, examination). Details are formulated in the study examination regulations. * Please look online for the information you require.
