Th complmtary cod cosists of a pair of cods, which hav th proprty that th sum of auto-corrlatio fuctios has a sidlob lvl of zro. I a actual radar systm, ach of th codd pulss ar trasmittd sparatly i tim or frqucy, ad thy ar addd aftr ach is auto-corrlatd at th rcivr. Th first applicatio of th complmtary cod was to ifrard multislit spctromtry. Followig that, thr wr attmpts to apply it to th radar; i fact, th complmtary cod has b utilizd for th msosphr-stratosphrtroposphr (MST radar [0],[]. Nowadays, thr ar may attmpts to apply it to commuicatio tchology [3]. I this study, w biary complmtary cods ar proposd, ad thir applicatios ar cosidrd, maily focusig o radar. Golay firstly proposd th biary complmtary cod [] i additio to itroducig th xpasio mthods, by which aothr complmtary cod of lgth N m (m is itgr is costructd by a complmtary cod of lgth N. Th biary complmtary cods ar availabl i lgths of,, 4, 8, 0, 6, 0, 6, 3, 40, 5, 64, 80, 00 (up to 00. Howvr, availabl cod lgths ar limitd, ad th umbr of availabl cods i ach lgth is also limitd [],[5].
