No new ICS-209's reported for today, nor any open in the system at this time. >More... No prescribed fire(s) and 0 acres reported completed for yesterday. For today, 1 prescribed fire(s) reported planned in Arizona and 1 prescribed fire (s) reported planned in New Mexico. The SWA Preparedness Level is at PL-2. >More... PREPAREDNESS LEVELS Southwest 2 (4/22/15) National 1 (9/29/14) ARIZONA DISPATCH CENTER REPORTING ADC SDC TDC FDC WDC PDC PHC x x x x x x NEW MEXICO DISPATCH CENTER REPORTING TDC ABC SDC ADC SFC x x x Nationally, fire activity reported as light with 174 new fires, 2 new large incidents, and 2 large incidents uncontained. One Type 2 IMT committed to Southern Area. National Preparedness Level is at PL-1. >More... FIRE WEATHER: No "Red Flag Warnings" have been issued for today. "Breezy to locally windy and dry conditions will overspread areas west of the divide today, as an upper level trough approaches from the west. Higher moisture levels further east will again fuel widely afternoon scattered storms, which will likely move east off of the western and northern NM mountains to impact areas downwind. Storm activity should wind down rapidly towards sunset as drier air moves in." Through the next 7-Day period, "Widely scattered storms across the eastern half of the Area to give way to dry & breezy/windy conditions spreading eastward through midweek. A period of higher RH and increased cloud cover & precipitation chances are expected for the latter half of the week." >More... RESOURCES: Assigned aviation resources to orders in the Southwest Area for today include 1 Type 3 helicopter. Available aviation resources include 1 VLAT, 2 T1&2 Airtanker(s), 1 LEAD, 6 Fixed-Wing Air Tactical, 6 SEATs, 2 Type 1 Helicopters, 10 Type 3 helicopters. No IMT or Crew resources assigned to orders. Two Type 1 IMT(s), 3 Type 2 IMT(s), 6 Type 3 IMT(s), and 13 Type 1 crew(s) available. Six engines assigned. Low potential for ordering additional IMT or Type 1 crew resources from outside the Southwest Area during the next 7-day period. One Type 1 crew, 27 overhead / support personnel assigned to activity (WF, SU, PP) in other Geographic Areas. Ten of these overhead / support personnel are assigned to flooding activities in Texas. >More... FUELS/FIRE DANGER/OUTLOOKS: Nine Southwest Area Units reporting high and 1 reporting Very High Fire Danger for today (... mostly southern/southeast Arizona units). WFAS forecasted fire danger for today is predominantly in the moderate-very high range for central / southwestern Arizona and southern New Mexico... low in northeastern portion of Area. Through the next 7-Day period, "continued low to locally moderate risk for significant fire activity in timber/slash fuel models and increased risk daily in the grass/brush fuel models... primary focus for activity continues to be in central / southern AZ and southern NM... several days of lightning followed by drying winds could bring new igitions and increased growth potential... lightning ignitions are starting to equal or exceed human ignition potential across the eastern half to two-thirds of the Area." Current ERC values trending primarily in the low (moist) - moderate (drying) range throughout most of the Area with drier values in the southern half and central portion of the Area. Expect these values to increase through the coming week. >More... ASSESSMENT: For today, no"red Flag Warnings"issued... warming and drying conditions forecasted, light lightning potential (from passing storms), and fire danger in the moderate-high range (mostly the southern half of the Area) expected. As such, conditions are positioned to respond to any ignition(s)... increased spread potential in grass / brush fuel types in the southern half of the Area. Moderate potential for significant resource Page 1 of 6
2 Page 2 of 6 drawdown of resources, again primarily in the southern half. Over the week, expect continued increasing potential for activity due to drying trend and increase in temperatures throughout most of the Area... although activity will most likely remain in the southern half of the Area. For today, we continue to have available a significant amount of resources for incident assignments at this time throughout the Geographic Area 6/1/2015 SITUATION Daily Activity via SIT Report Program Agency State-Unit AZS AZ-A1S AZ-A2S USFS AZ-KNF NM-LNF NMS N5S DAILY TOTAL The above displays all fires and acres reported by the local Dispatch Center via the National SIT REPORT Program for the previous day.
