3 Statutory basics in Germany Resolutions & decisions of the German Bundestag on the GI subject 15 February 2001 and 10 April 2003 To force the implementation and further development of the spatial data infrastructure for Germany (GDI-DE ) To promote the cross-departmental use of GI by (web) services Cooperation Federal Government & federal states & economy & scientific sector Coordination of the GI activities by the Federal Government is needed Based on the resolution of 2001, the Federal Government is called upon to provide the German Bundestag in the third year of each legislative period with a progress report coordinated by IMAGI. 13 Survey of user requirements Goals for the 1 st step in 2011 federal level which spatial data products are currently used? which spatial data is additionally needed/required? in what priority (immediately?, in due course? long-term?)? in which way (online: web services, offline: DVD, )? by whom? The survey has been established as a continuous task on the federal level and will be updated yearly starting in It will be extended to the state and municipality level by the respective administrations.
