2 WSTAW POLTEGOR-INSTYTUT- TYTUŁ SLAJDU MISSION The mission of Poltegor Instytutute is to create innovative processess and technologies, methods and technological solutions in the area of geology, geoenginering and opencast mining according to the policy of energy safety and sustainable development. 2

3 WSTAW STAFF TYTUŁ SLAJDU Since more than 60 years POLTEGOR-INSTITUTE has been conducting research and technology development activities in the field of open cast mining of lignite and rock materials, extending these works into other industry branches. Organizational structure of the Institute is divided into interdisciplinary work teams which are strengthened with an access to 12 laboratories. The Institute employs 60 persons. 3

8 WSTAW Ongoing project TYTUŁ SLAJDU The aim of the project The aim of the project is to develop a technology of production of new products from mining wastes during exploitation of gneiss deposit Doboszowice 1 for aggregate and ornamental stones. The goal is to create a new wasteless technology and to decrease the amount of wastes deposited so far in Doboszowice 1 mine. It is planned that the project will help to develope and to implement a technology of utilization of t/year wastes and to produce apart from feldspar materials also t/year of soil additives. 8

10 WSTAW ONGOINGTYTUŁ PROJECT SLAJDU Doboszowice 1 gneiss deposit is equal of 205 Mio.t and the exploitation in 2016 was equal of 332 thousand of tones 10

11 WSTAW Ongoing project TYTUŁ SLAJDU Preliminary laboratory tests conducted so far showed that there is a possibility to use post mining wastes for production of feldspar material as well as soil additives. The works will include laboratory tests of mined material, currently produced by the mine products (construction and decoration), wastes from ongoing excavation. The laboratory tests will be dedicated to physical and chemical properties of rock materials, processing properties of materials (mechanical, magnetic). Based on the results of conducted tests a technology of exploitation as well as processing of wastes will be elaborated. Pilot instalation is to be develepoed in Doboszów mine. 11
