1 Today you will need: a pencil notebook paper 9.4 Reteach/Practice WS *Backpacks around the perimeter of room* Agenda: Bellwork Homework Review 9.4 Smart Notes Solve Linear Systems Using Elimination with Multiplication. 1
2 Unit Scale: Systems of Equations and Inequalities Through independent work beyond what was taught in class, students could (examples include, but are not limited to): investigate when a fuel efficiency car is the best deal and when it is not. investigate their need of solving a system of three equations and three unknowns to find the point of equilibrium of three vacation packages to determine the best deal. Through independent work beyond what was taught in class, students could (examples include, but are not limited to): investigate when a fuel efficiency car is the best deal and when it is not. investigate their need of solving a system of three equations and three unknowns to find the point of equilibrium of three vacation packages to determine the best deal. The students will: represent constraints by equations or inequalities, and by systems of equations and/or inequalities, and interpret solutions as viable or non viable options in a modeling context. (MAFS.912.A CED.1.3; Context Complexity Level 3) prove that, given a system of two equations in two variables, replacing one equation by the sum of that equation and a multiple of the other produces a system with the same solutions. (MAFS.912.A REI.3.5; Context Complexity Level 3) solve systems of linear equations exactly and approximately (e.g. with graphs), focusing on pairs of linear equations in two variables. (MAFS. 912.A REI.3.6; Context Complexity Level 1) graph the solutions to a linear inequality in two variables as a half plane (excluding the boundary in the case of a strict inequality), and graph the solution set to a system of linear inequalities in two variables as the intersection of the corresponding half planes. (MAFS.912.A REI.4.12; Context Complexity Level 2) 2.0 The students will: determine the meaning of symbols, key terms, and other algebra specific words and phrases as they are used in a specific technical context relevant to grades 9 12 texts and topics (see Academic Vocabulary). comprehend the graphing process of points and lines. comprehend the process of making a table of values. understand the process of combining like terms. recall how to solve equations using the order of operations. identify the x intercept. identify the y intercept. 1.0 With help, the students will have partial success at level 2.0 and level 3.0 content. 2
