2 What's Happening? FBLA Convention On February 7, 2017, students in grades 7-12 competed in the district rally at the Cajun Dome. Celebrating St. Edmund Catholic School Joe Ward Class of 2017 January 29- February 3 rd marked the 43 rd national celebration of Catholic Schools. St. Edmund teachers and students observed the theme Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service with a variety of activities throughout the week.

School. Middle school students decorated classroom windows and doors with the theme. On February 1, 2017, PreK through 12 th grade students, faculty, and parents filled St.

Edmund students and faculty ended the week long celebration of Catholic Schools with a Praise and Worship assembly. Senior, Joe Ward, gave testimony to the student body from Pk 12 th grade.

Juniors, Gabby Fontenot and Maggie Larreviere guided their fellow students through a glimpse of their opportunity to participate in the National Right to Life March in Washington, D.C.

5 Celebrating St. Edmund Catholic School Joe Ward Class of 2017 January 29- February 3 rd marked the 43 rd national celebration of Catholic Schools. St. Edmund teachers and students observed the theme Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service with a variety of activities throughout the week. In the classroom, students prayed the rosary daily, wrote a variety of essays describing the benefits of Catholic Schools, wrote letters of thanks to parents for the opportunity to attend a Catholic School. Middle school students decorated classroom windows and doors with the theme. On February 1, 2017, PreK through 12 th grade students, faculty, and parents filled St. Anthony s to celebrate Mass. Following Mass, students, teachers, and supporter of the year were announced. On February 3, 2017, St. Edmund students and faculty ended the week long celebration of Catholic Schools with a Praise and Worship assembly. Senior, Joe Ward, gave testimony to the student body from Pk 12 th grade. Ward spoke of his experiences attending a Catholic school. Juniors, Gabby Fontenot and Maggie Larreviere guided their fellow students through a glimpse of their opportunity to participate in the National Right to Life March in Washington, D.C. Elementary classes created and performed songs and cheers celebrating Catholic Schools. The Fine Arts Survey class presented their version of the popular mannequin challenge highlighting classroom activities across our PK 12 campus. Middle school students, Wesley Driggs on acoustic guitar, William Driggs on drums, and Austin Stanford on bass guitar, had the student body on their feet singing and swaying to Good, Good Father and Soul on Fire. Library Fund Our two libraries house age appropriate reading materials and several computers for Accelerated Reader testing and student research. Technology Fund Funds are dedicated to maintenance of interactive boards, projectors, teacher presentation computers, student computers, and network infrastructure. Building Fund This fund is dedicated to payment of expenses incurred with the recent construction of our multipurpose facility. Legacy Project Fund The fund provides financial support for The Senior Legacy Projects. Seniors develop proposals to improve academics or facilities of St. Edmund Catholic School. The top project is selected for implementation. St. Edmund Foundation The endowment trust fund was established to insure the future of St. Edmund Catholic School. Only the interest generated from the fund can be spent to help fund teacher salaries, financial aid, capital projects, etc. Monsignor Harry Benefiel Foundation The fund was established by former St. Anthony Pastor Msgr. Harry Benefiel to benefit St. Edmund Catholic School. A portion of the foundation's interest is utilized to subsidize math and science teachers.
