Articles are now being published on the web within 33 days of acceptance. Several new features have been added to the electronic journal to meet the needs of researchers, including the ability to download machinereadable tables for analysis in either ASCII or VO table format. The journal covers the field of modern astronomy with emphasis placed on significant scientific results derived from observations, including descriptions of data capture, surveys, analysis techniques, planetary science, and astrophysical interpretation. Expanded coverage includes quasars, galaxies, supernova remnants, studies of the interstellar medium, and astrophysical interpretation. The Astronomical Journal remains committed to the rapid, quality publication of research in astronomy. A new open-access opportunity for the high energy and nuclear physics communities aims to strengthen publications in these areas. EPL publishes original, high-quality letters covering all areas of physics. Letters contain data that are scientifically accurate, novel, and require timely publication.
