I is quie familiar ha a duly designed inake manifold is essenial for he opimal performance of an inernal combusion engine. Air flow inside he inake manifold is one of he imporan facors, which governs he engine performance and emissions. Hence he flow phenomenon inside he inake manifold should be fully opimized o produce more engine power wih beer combusion and furher reduces he emission. In his paper, during he new engine developmen he pressure waves for he inake manifold is simulaed using D GT-POWER sofware, o sudy he inernal air flow characerisic for he 4-cylinder gasoline engine during ransien condiions. Based on he D simulaion resuls, he inake manifold design is opimized. As a resul of his analysis, inake manifold wih.5% improvemen in volumeric efficiency is achieved.
