10 NEWS FLASH This isn t a mistake: The California State Aerie and California State Auxiliary will hold their 019 Annual Convention in Visalia, California at the Wyndham Hotel. This hotel was the site of previous State Conventions the last being held there in 199. The hotel then was a Holiday Inn. I want to thank our Auxiliary State Secretary, Barbara Meidinger for making the trip to Visalia to personally inspect the property, along with myself to make sure they can properly host our two conventions. Their rooms were currently under remodel but are scheduled to be completed by years end. They have several suites for hospitality, however have stated that they do not remove furniture. The parlor areas are not huge by any means but they will work. We have to remember we are going for Convention. They have two large meeting spaces which will hold the men s convention and a larger for the women and banquets. This hotel sets just off the 99 Freeway but not to far from downtown if you wish to venture out. Exeter Aerie #608 is about 1 miles away close enough to host a couple of dinners or lunch if they wish. There is a park across the street from the hotel, beautiful pool, nice restaurant, and large cocktail bar. I am sure the delegates will enjoy this location. They have given us a Room rate of $99.00 per night plus tax (please wait for convention information to make reservations) and although we have not yet made any banquet or lunch arrangements with them their menus look good and priced reasonably. I want to thank those that took our need seriously. Brother Richard Hart had came up with locations. Our search for new places isn t over. Please if you think you know of a place that could host our State Aerie and Auxiliary Conventions please make a note and lets check it out. We may stay here for a while, maybe not, we get to see how it works out. Also we left the Double Tree Bakersfield on a good terms agreement. Thank You, Devere
