Set up the geochronology laboratory from scratch for Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd dating of rocks and minerals with thermal ionization mass spectrometer (TRITON) at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India 2. Set up from scratch a quadrupole ICP-MS laboratory (Perkin Elmer Elan DRC 6000) at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India 3. Set up a Laser Ablation Micro Analyzer (New Wave Research ArF Excimer 193nm) in the ICP-MS laboratory at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India 4. Got funds in October 2007 from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to set up an Electron Probe Micro Analyzer (EPMA) at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India. The EPMA (Cameca SX100) has started working 5. Working on the U-Th chemical separation and measurement of U and Th isotopes to set up the U Series Disequilibrium dating of geological samples Administrative experience: I was working as Head of the Institute Instrumentation Center (IIC) of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, India, from December 2005 to December IIC is an academic service center and houses the shared analytical facilities. It has more than twenty sophisticated analytical facilities and caters to the scientific analytical needs of researchers of IIT Roorkee as well as of other institutes, scientific organizations and industry Research Projects: 1.
