Lineage: Process_Step: Process_Description: ONGARD land records processed through Land Use Map Automation System (LUMAS) software. The LUMAS application processes legal land descriptions, consisting of 1) principal meridian, 2) township, 3) range, 4) section, 5) survey type, and 6) aliquot, against a specified Public Lands Survey System (PLSS) grid. In this case, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management Geographic Coordinate Data Base (GCDB) was used. For those townships for which GCDB was not available, alternate source GCDB data was used.
