3 Fostering Community IGAC is an open international community of atmospheric scientists actively collaborating across geographical boundaries and disciplines in order to contribute to addressing the most pressing global change and sustainability issues through scientific research.

7 Fostering Community IGAC Sponsored Events/Communication IGAC sponsors or endorses workshops, meetings, conferences, schools and short courses bringing together hundreds of scientists from across the world, forming a truly international community of atmospheric scientists. IGAC monthly ebulletins and thrice yearly IGACnews, amongst other announcements, is sent out to a community of ~4,000 scientists and societal partners.

8 Building Capacity IGAC builds scientific capacity through its national and regional working groups, its early career scientists program, its biennial conferences and facilitation of numerous thematic workshops.

9 Building Capacity Early Career Scientists Program IGAC has a strong focus on engaging the next generation of scientists through its early career program. These scientists join an international network early in their career that puts the cogs in motions to further facilitate atmospheric chemistry research at an international level for years to come.

10 Building Capacity IGAC National/Regional Working Groups IGAC builds capacity in developing countries/regions by creating a strong cohesive community of atmospheric scientists that together have a sum greater than their parts and connects these scientists to the larger IGAC community to foster international collaborations.

11 Providing Leadership IGAC provides intellectual leadership by identifying current and future areas within atmospheric chemistry that need to be addressed and promoted that would benefit from research across disciplines and/or geographical boundaries.
