20 38 I 39 It all started in 1848, when Jaques Henry discovered the world of ceramics in a small workshop in Marcigny, a village in his native Burgundy. When he was 20, he travelled the roads of France to meet other, more experienced, potters and develop his savoir-faire as a ceramist. Upon his return in 1850, he started the production of jugs, terrines and soup tureens in his workshop in Marcigny. In 1885, Jacques passed on to his son Paul a workshop which had a rich savoir-faire and was full of passion. His reputation quickly spread as far as Paris. Paul designed the Ruffled pie dish in 1911, and it soon became the iconic symbol of the Company. Thanks to Emile, Paul s son, the collection was updated and remained a best seller through the two World Wars. la Maison Henry A story made in France since 1850

21 40 I 41 In the fifties, technological progress allowed the Company to modernize the products, offering ceramic which were more and more resistant. In 1976, Maurice and his son Jacques created the first colourful dishes for use in the oven. Jacques continued to develop the sales abroad and created an in-house laboratory for Research and Development of ceramic adapted to the new cooking styles of the 21 st Century. In 2012, Jean-Baptiste Henry took over the family company and passion, determined more than ever to develop and evolve, and proud to use the experience of Earth and Fire to perpetrate the values of tasty, homemade cooking. savoir-faire looking into the future

23 44 I 45 handmade in france thermal and mechanical resistance traceability Quality control Since 1850, we have created in the same workshops all our products from a unique blend of clay which produces resistant, durable dishes. Carefully shaped, each Emile Henry piece is signed by the artisan who made it. It is then meticulously checked by the person who packs it, adding a label with their name for traceability and as a guarantee of quality. With a 10 year guarantee, our dishes are known for their resistance to changes in temperature and to chipping, for direct use on the heat for the Flame range and on all types of heat sources, including induction for the 1850 range.
