1 2018 Land Owner Weed Removal Rebate Thank you for your interest in the s Land Owner Weed Removal Rebate program and your concern for the spread of alien invasive plants in British Columbia. Landowners incurring a cost to control invasive weeds on their private land may be eligible for up to 50% of treatment cost to a maximum of $500 (excluding contractor travel cost). The rebate fund is limited, and qualified applicants are approved on a first-come, first-served basis. You must hire a certified pesticide applicator with a valid service licence to provide invasive plant treatment recommendations and a treatment cost estimate (contractor travel is not eligible). A list of potential service providers is provided but not limited by NWIPC with this application. The cost must be within industry standards. A rebate will only be given once per year for each applicant and/or treatment area and only after NWIPC receives confirmation of payment to the contractor. You must not be receiving money from any other funding program for weed control on your private land to qualify. Criteria for participation in our program: PART 1: APPLICATION for ASSISTANCE 1. Complete all fields and submit the attached 2018 Application for Assistance form. You may choose to have your contractor submit the Application. The type of invasive plant(s) treated must be listed. 2. Only invasive species on the list, included with this application, are eligible for treatment. 3. You will receive a letter from the NWIPC advising you of the acceptance of your application. PART 2: REQUEST for REBATE 1. Complete and submit the REQUEST for REBATE form once the job is finished and you have paid the contractor. Rebates will not be issued if the contractor has not been paid. 2. Attach: 1) a copy of the applicator s invoice; 2) treatment area maps; 3) applicator certificate number and expiry date; and 4) service licence number and expiry date to the NWIPC. 3.
