INTRODUCTION The following report presents the results of a limited exploration programme carried out with OPAP Grants on two adjacents mining properties. The programme included line refreshing and rechaining, magnetometer ground survey, electromagnetic VLF-EM 16 survey and geological mapping. The exploration work has been carried out during the period of June 1st to October 30th, 1992 by Ovalbay Geological Services Inc. All available informations from the assessment work files at the Resident Geologist's office in Thunder Bay have been carefully studied in the area of the claims block. Exploration in the immediate area is presently active since most of the ground was closed to exploration for roughly 20 years.

LOCATION AND ACCESS The property is located approximately 80 miles west of the city of Thunder Bay, in the Shebandowan area of Northwestern Ontario. The claims lie approximately 2 miles south west of the Ardeen Gold Mine. Map references include NTS map sheet 52B/10 and claim map G-676, Moss Township. Access to the property is gained by travelling west from Thunder Bay along Highway 11-17 to Shabaqua, and continuing westward along Highway 11 to a point 1.2 miles west of the village of Kashabowie. From there, Highway 802 S (Great Lakes Forest Products Road) leads southward. At mile 8.5, the Hermia Lake Forest Access Road leads westward to a serie of lumber roads which cross the group of claims. The area is also easily accessible through the Swamp Road which branches from Highway # 11 some 25 miles west of Highway # 802 S.

TOPOGRAPHY, VEGETATION The property is characterized by typical Archean topography with northeasterly trending ridges and intervening swamp covered valleys. Maximum relief is in the order of 50 to 100 feet. Outcrops represent not more than 5% exposures within the surveyed area. Locally overburden depths may exceed 50 feet. The overburden is composed of clay and gravel with numerous areas covered by muskeg. Poplar, jack pine, birch and black spruce are located in the dry areas and tamarack, black spruce and few cedar are present in the wet areas.

CLAIMS. The claims (Figure 2) are located roughly 2 miles south west of the Ardeen Gold Mines shaft # 2 and were part of the original mining property. The property is comprised of four unpatented mining claims composed of two adjacent groups. The numbers are as follows: MIKE FOGEN TB-1148798 Tb-1148799 DANIEL CALVERT TB-1172426 TB-1172428

PREVIOUS WORK Prior to 1968, the claims under study were part of the mining concession 27B which was part of the Ardeen Gold Mines property. Over the years, Ardeen Gold Mines Limited Company (incorporated in December 1933) was also named Huronian Mines Limited Company, Jackfish Lake Mining Company, Moss Mines Limited, Moss Gold Mines Limited and Kerry Gold Mines Limited. From 1968 to 1973, Kerry Mines Limited optioned the old mine and surrounding land to Belore Mines Limited which was incorporated in June 1968. At the time, all exploration work was concentrated to the north east of the claims under study. From 1973 to 1974, Dome Exploration Limited optioned some of the claims from Belore, including the claims under study. Geological and geophysical surveys were carried out on part of the claims. In 1975, Agricultural Rehabilitation Development Administration (ARDA) bought most of Belore's patented claims including 27B. At the end of the summer of 1990 the claims were reopen for staking.

10 REGIONAL GEOLOGY The surveyed area is part of the Western Shebandowan greenstone belt of the Wawa Subprovince. All rocks except diabase dikes are Archean in age. The Shebandowan belt forms the northern margin of the Wawa Subprovince in northwestern Ontario. The greenstone belt is bounded to the north by the metasedimentary rocks and associated granitic intrusions of the Quetico Subprovince and to the south by a granitoid batholitic complex. The contact to the north with the metasedimentary rocks is both conformable and fault-bounded. The Shebandowan belt is comprised mainly of mafic to felsic metavolcanics units, which have been intruded by numerous syn - to post - tectonic mafic to felsic intrusive rocks. The Shebandowan belt has been subdivided into four units namely: a northern mafic to intermediate metavolcanic unit, a southern mafic to intermediate metavolcanic unit, a central felsic to intermediate metavolcanic unit, a central mafic to intermediate metavolcanic unit. A few narrows slivers of mafic metavolcanics are also present within the Quetico metasedimentary belt.

11 RECENT WORK During the period of June 01 st,1992 to October 30th, 1992 a limited exploration programme has been initiated on a block of four claims. Two claims forming the northern half of the surveyed area are recorded in the name of MIKE FOGEN and the two claims to the south are recorded in the name of DANIEL CALVERT. A former grid of cut and chained lines (Dome 1973) has been re-cut and re-chained as control station for the geophysical and geological surveys. The base line is oriented N45E and the lines are oriented at 315 0. Chaining was carried on with pickets or flag at every 100 feet along the lines. The exploration programme was conducted under the supervision of Ovalbay Geological Services Inc. of Thunder Bay, Ontario ( Claude Larouche P. Eng., 385 Riviera Drive, Box H-9, Thunder Bay, Ontario, P7B 6K2, prospector's licence # E-33336). The programme was oriented toward a systematic evaluation of the gold potential on the group of claims.

12 GEOLOGY OF THE PROPERTY The area under study is comprised of massive flows with associated pillow breccia and fragmental rocks. The different rock types encountered while mapping are described in the following pages and a map at the scale of l" ** 2 00' (Map 3) is presented in pocket. Dacite The most important formation is represented by intermediate volcanics (Dacite). The rock is fine grained grey green in colour. Amygdules are present and locally looks like quartz eyes. Weathering on surface is pinkish in colour and locally rare phenocrysts of feldspar are present. Chlorite clots and large amphiboles are seen in places. The intermediate volcanics are commonly brecciated with pyrite along fractures. Rare quartz V~ carbonate stringers cross cut the dacite. ANDESITE - BASALT The andesite - basalt is also massive, fine grained, green in colour. Closely associated to the dacite, the mafic volcanics are more magnetic, highly fractured with pyrite, pyrrhotite and traces of chalcopyrite along fractures. Few quartz carbonate stringers cut the andesite - basalt. PILLOW BRECCIA Pillow breccia of intermediate to mafic composition has been observed in the south west portion of the surveyed area. It is locally silicified, carbonated, pyritized and epidotized. FRAGMENTALS The fragmentals mainly present in the northwestern portion of the claim block, consist of block to lapilli size subangular to oval shaped of chert? clasts within a chloritic matrix. Locally blocks are rare and it forms chlorite schist. Pyrite is disseminated in places.

13 GABBRO Fine to medium grained gabbro are present on the property. They are massive grey green in colour and are oriented subparallel to the intermediate to mafic volcanics. Locally, they may represent the coarser portion of a lava flow. CHERTY IRON FORMATION One outcrop in the central portion of the south west quadrant shows a small bed of cherty iron formation. It is folded, brecciated with minor pyrite along fractures. PORPHYRY Two separate occurrences of quartz feldspar porphyry have been mapped on the property. The dykes are cutting across the stratigraphy. They are slightly altered and contain minor amount of disseminated pyrite. Few quartz (with minor carbonate) stringers cut across the different formations, they are barren and white in colour. Schistosities are better observed within the fragmentals due to the high content of chlorite, nevertheless the intermediate to mafic metavolcanics are highly fractured. Three samples have been collected for assays. The description of the samples is given in Appendix l along with the results and a copy of the certificates of assays. Even is no mineralization of economic interest has been discovered during the recent work programme? from a recent geological compilation of Moss township by geologists from the Ontario Geological Survey, the following observations were made on the potential for economic mineralizations in Moss township. "Gold occurs in the following associations: 1) quartz and quartz-carbonate veins mineralized with pyrite, chalcopyrite, galena, sphalerite and telluride along northeast-trending shear zones ( eg. Huronian Mine, Minoletti and Beaver zones); 2) along mineralized shear zones and associated fractures in diorite and feldspar porphyry bodies within the CFU (central felsic to intermediate metavolcanic unit) eg. Snodgrass and Span lakes areas. Small syenite bodies are often associated with these bodies at the sites of gold mineralizations.

14 Anomalous gold also occurs in several other discrete shear zones both within and along the contact between the Quetico metasedimentary and Shebandowan metavolcanic rocks. Exploration for possible base metal and gold mineralization should be focused along the contact of the gabbroic sill-complex within the Quetico metasedimentary rocks in northwestern Moss township".

15 GEOPHYSICAL SURVEYS A grid of northwest-southeast lines spaced 400 feet apart was re-cut and rechained over the claim block as reference stations for the geophysical surveys. A total of 3.75 miles of lines including the base line were completed. The ground geophysical surveys including magnetometer and electromagnetic VLF-Em 16 surveys were carried out over 3.22 miles of lines. The magnetometer survey was conducted with a Scintrex MP2 Proton Mag instrument measuring the value of the total magnetic field with a precision of 1.0 gamma. The readings were taken systematically every 100 feet with details at 50 or 25 feet in anomalous areas. The bases stations were located along the base line at the cross line intercepts. The magnetic readings have been corrected for diurnal variations where necessary. The magnetic results are presented on a map (Map l in pocket) at the metric scale of l ^ 3000. Note that 58,000 gammas should be added to the plotted value in order to obtain the measured value. Its appears that the higher magnetic intensity may correspond to the disseminated pyrrhotite present in the rock and to the gabbro. The cherty iron formation was not picked up by the survey due to its narrow width. The electromagnetic survey was carried out with a Geonics Em 16 Instrument using the Cutler, Maine station (frequency 24.0 khz). The vertical components (in phase and quadrature) of the secondary field are measured with a precision of * or - 21. The readings were also taken systematically every 100 feet along the grid lines with details at 50 or 25 feet. The results of the electromagnetic survey are plotted on a map (Map 2) at the metric scale of l ^ 3000 (in pocket). Profiles at the scale of l cm ^ 20% have been drawn for the in phase and quadrature readings. The possible conductors have been interpreted and marked by a bolder line. They may represent bedrock conductors but they are associated to very strong valleys (possibly shears zones). These valleys are oriented east north east.

16 RECOMMENDATIONS The exploration programme completed to date with the help of the OPAP grants served to upgrade the mining property which was dormant for the last 20 years. The geophysical surveys should be detailed with line at 100 foot intervals in order to better define the geological formations. Trenching and or prospecting is recommended close to the strong valleys to investigate the existence of shear zones which are the host of gold mineralizations in the immediate area. Claude Larouche, President OVALBAY GEOLOGICAL SERVICES INC,
