7 Employee Training/Awareness GLOBE DISTRICT WIDE WINTER MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES GENERAL While snow and ice control operations will usually be continuous from the start of a storm until further work is unnecessary, SAFETY concerns such as reduced visibility or operator fatigue may mandate stopping or reducing work. Specific highways may be designated closed for the winter season, closed during the hours of darkness, closed on week ends by the District Engineer and no snow and ice control operations performed on them during the storm event.
