2 Star Formation Across the Universe The Summer School Alpbach enjoys 34 years of tradition in providing in-depth teaching on different topics of space science & technology, featuring lectures and concentrated working sessions on mission studies in self-organised working groups. The Summer School is organised by FFG in cooperation with ESA, the national space authorities in it s member and cooperating states and ISSI and supported by Austrospace. The Summer School Alpbach 2011 addresses innovative mission concepts aiming to increase our knowledge of key processes of star formation. 4 Teams compete to design a space mission each, judged by a jury of experts.
