1 Phone : , Class and Medium : ADMISSION 2018 (For Class V) Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya (A Residential School for boys with H. S. Section) Narendrapur, Kolkata Website : rkmvnarendrapur@gmail.com July 20, 2017 Admission is open only to Class V, both Bengali and English Medium. Being a residential school, all the boys should live in the hostels. The school is affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education. Boys are admitted here after admission test and interview. 2. Eligibility : Persons having faith in the objectives of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission are expected to seek for admission of their wards. Besides, boys should be physically fit and mentally prepared to stay in a residential school and should have the aptitude towards living and studying on their own in a common community life. Boys now reading in Class IV or V are eligible for admission test for class V. Candidates detained in Class IV or V or candidates having no formal education in any school are not eligible. Age : Between 10 and 11 years of age as on 1st January, 2018 (i.e, born between and ). However boys who have completed / will be completing class IV at a lesser age as on 1 st January 2018, are also eligible to apply. Boys should secure 60% marks in Bengali / Hindi and English & 70% marks in Mathematics in their last Annual Examinations or Half-yearly Examination, whichever applicable. In case of Grade System, the above criteria of marks should be maintained. 3. a) Issue of Application kits (OFFLINE) : Application Forms, etc. will be issued on all working days between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and again between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. from Monday, 13 th November to Friday, 24 th November, 2017 from the Vidyalaya Admission Office on production of the original / attested copies of Age Proof Certificate and Progress Report. Application Forms are not sent by post. The cost of Application Form, Prospectus and an outline of Syllabus and Sample Questions including the Registration Fee amounts to Rs. 500/- only. Parents or the legal guardians living in distant places may collect the Application Forms etc. through their local guardians or representatives on production of the original / attested copies of the Age proof certificate and Progress Report. b) Acceptance of filled Application Forms : Original Application Forms fully filled in by the parents themselves or legal guardians (not local guardians or representatives) along with the attested copies of Age Proof Certificate and Progress Report will be accepted on all working days between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Tuesday, 14 th November to Saturday, 25 th November, Application Forms sent by post will not be accepted. Incomplete application forms also won t be accepted.

2 4. a) Issue of Application Form (ONLINE) : Application Forms for admission to class V will be available for download (please use 75 GSM A4 size white paper) online from our website from to , 4 p.m. b) Acceptance of filled Application Forms : The application form fully filled in by the parents or the legal guardians along with attested copies of Age Proof Certificate and Progress Report, Caste certificate if applicable attested by any Headmaster/Headmistress or a gazetted officer and Rs. 500/- fees should be submitted by hand in our School Office between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. from to Application forms sent by Post/Courier etc. won t be accepted. Incomplete application form also won t be accepted. 5. Admission Test : Admission Test for the boys of English Medium and Bengali Medium will be held at Narendrapur Centre only on Sunday, the 3 rd December, 2017 at p.m. Admission Test will be conducted at our Manipur centre on the same day / time for the Manipur students only. Boys seeking admission to English Medium will have to sit for the Written Tests in Bengali or Hindi, English & Mathematics. Here Bengali or Hindi is the First Language in English Medium, and English is Second Language. Boys seeking admission to Bengali Medium will have to sit for the Written Tests in Bengali, English & Mathematics. There will be three papers carrying 150 marks in total (Bengali/Hindi : 50; English : 50; Mathematics : 50). The duration of the Test for each is 45 minutes. The syllabuses meant for Classes IV and V prescribed by different Boards or Councils in different Texts and Reference books will be covered mainly. Emphasis is given on the basic concepts or fundamentals of the subjects, simple and correct sentences with right spelling of words and good handwriting etc. A list of the candidates selected for the interview will be published in the Notice Board of the Vidyalaya and in our website within a fortnight or so, after the written Test. Call for interview doesn t guarantee admission. 6. Any information given in the Application Form, if subsequently, found wrong may cause expulsion of the boy after admission. 7. No admission is made against receipt of donation in cash or kind. 8. Boys irrespective of caste, creed or nationality are admitted. Preference is given to boys belonging to the weaker sections of the society. Excellence in co-curricular activities is desirable. 9. In no case, question papers of the previous years are given or published in any form. The Vidyalaya also does not conduct any coaching classes for the Admission Test. 10.
