1 Temperature sensr / Dual Temp+Humidity Intrductin Temperature sensrs are imprtant where ptimum temperature cntrl is paramunt. If there is an air cnditining malfunctin r abnrmal weather cnditins, damage t infrmatin, delicate electrnic equipment r warehuse stck may ccur. Temperature sensrs can be purchased with 15, 60, r 100 feet f cable, allwing the sensrs t be psitined in ht spts. As with all ur intelligent sensrs its presence will be autmatically detected by the unit. Each sensr has its wn SNMP OID s that data can be cllected ver the netwrk and graphed. A cmmnly used SNMP OID fr the temperature sensr is the number f degrees. This infrmatin can be used fr graphing the sensr. The SNMP OID fr the temperature sensr degrees n RJ45#1: Specificatins & Features: Measurement range Celsius:-55 C t +75 C Measurement reslutin Celsius: 1 C increments. Measurement accuracy Celsius: ±0.5 C accuracy frm -10 C t +75 C Measurement range Fahrenheit: -67 F t +167 F Measurement reslutin Fahrenheit: 1 F increments. Measurement accuracy Fahrenheit: ±0.9 F accuracy frm +14 F t +167 F Cmmunicatins cable: RJ-45 jack t temperature sensr using UTP Cat 5 cable. Sensr type: semicnductr micrprcessr cntrlled
2 Temperature sensr / Dual Temp+Humidity Pwer surce: pwered by the securityprbe. N additinal pwer needed. The securityprbe aut detects the presence f the temperature sensr Measurement rate: ne reading every secnd Up t 8 temperature sensrs per securityprbe Full Autsense including discnnect alarm The securityprbe Temperature Detail page allws yu t set and get the wrking parameters f a specific temperature sensr. Cnfiguring the Temperature Sensr. a) Plug the sensr int ne f the RJ45 prts n the rear panel f the unit. b) Nw pint yur brwser t the IP address f the unit (default, ). Next yu need t lgin as the administratr using yur administratr passwrd (default is public ). Yu will then be taken t the summary page. c) Frm the summary page yu need t select the sensrs tab. The layut f the next page will vary depending n yur unit s please refer t yur units manual. d) Yu shuld nw be able t setup the threshlds fr yur sensr. The lw critical, lw warnings, nrmal, high warnings, high critical values can be set frm this page. Nw we will cver the settings that are specific t yur sensr. Current Reading: The number f Degrees is displayed in this read-nly field. This is an integer SNMP OID field which has a precisin f 1 degree. The value can be plled via SNMP, and the data can be used t graph the temperature variatins. The value displayed can be in Fahrenheit r Celsius. If cmmunicatin t the temperature sensr is lst, the sensr value -512 will be returned by a snmpget. Hint: The actual precisin fr the temperature sensr is 0.9 F (0.5 C). Nevertheless, the Current Reading field nly displays the temperature with an increment/decrement f 1 degree. T retrieve the actual reading frm the temperature sensr, anther SNMP OID must be used; it is: fr the sensr n RJ45#1. Hwever, since this is an integer SNMP OID, the temperature must be multiplied by 10 befre plled via SNMP. Therefre, the returned value has t be divided by 10 t becme the actual temperature
3 Temperature sensr / Dual Temp+Humidity Status: If at any time cmmunicatins with the temperature sensr are lst, the status f the temperature sensr is changed t sensrerrr. If cmmunicatins with the temperature sensr are re-established the status will be frmed by cmparing the Degree t the high and lw threshlds. Degree Type: The Degree Type can be set t Fahrenheit r Celsius. When the Degree Type is changed all the threshld fields will change their values autmatically. The securityprbe stres the threshlds fr bth Celsius and Fahrenheit independently allwing yu t switch between the tw. Reading Offset: The Reading Offset parameter can be used t calibrate temperature and humidity sensrs. If fr example the actual reading f a sensr is 28 degrees Celsius and the Reading Offset is set t 2 the temperature will be displayed as 30 degrees Celsius
4 Temperature sensr / Dual Temp+Humidity Dual Temperature/Humidity Sensr The dual sensr has bth temperature and humidity measuring capabilities in a single sensr. This means a single prt can have tw sensrs, saving prts fr additinal sensrs. A specially designed CAT 5 cable assures a crrect reading up t 100 feet, and is available in standard length f 1 ft, 15 feet, 60 feet and 100 feet, allwing the sensrs t be psitined in ht spts. When the dual sensr is plugged int the RJ-45 prt, the system will aut detect the sensr, and it will display Temperature and Humidity fr each prt t which a dual sensr is cnnected. A built in graph ptin is available n the system fr graphing temperature and humidity variatins ver a perid f time. The SNMP OID fr the temperature sensr n RJ45#1 is The SNMP OID fr the humidity sensr n RJ45#1 is Specificatins & Features: Temperature Measurement range Celsius: -40 C t +75 C Measurement reslutin Celsius: 1 C Measurement accuracy Celsius: ±0.2 C accuracy frm -10 C t +75 C Measurement range Fahrenheit: -67 F t +167 F Measurement reslutin Fahrenheit: 1 F increments. Measurement accuracy Fahrenheit: ±0.4 F accuracy frm +14 F t +167 F Humidity Measurement range: 0 t 100% Relative humidity Sensr element wettable withut damage Reslutin: 0.5 % Accuracy at 25 C ±5%, Wrking Range -20 C +60 C Cmmunicatins cable: RJ-45 jack t dual sensr using UTP Cat 5 cable. 5 Temperature sensr / Dual Temp+Humidity Cnfiguring the Dual sensr Since all f AKCP's intelligent sensrs are cnfigured similarly, nt every field is described belw. The descriptins belw describe the fields which are specific t the humidity sensr. Temperature A cmmnly used SNMP OID fr the temperature sensr is the number f degrees. This infrmatin can be used fr graphing the sensr. The SNMP OID fr the temperature sensr n RJ45#1 is Current Reading: The number f Degrees is displayed in this read-nly field. 6 Temperature sensr / Dual Temp+Humidity Humidity Please see the anntated screensht belw describing the fields fr the Humidity sensr setup tab. A cmmnly used OID fr the Humidity sensr is the percentage, this can be graphed. The SNMP OID fr Humidity sensr n RJ45#1 is Current Reading: The relative Humidity Percent is displayed in this field. This is a read-nly field. This integer OID and can be plled. The data can be used t graph the Humidity.
